How do you propose we give them work? There are millions of job openings in the country. They choose not to work.

The homeless could be recruited into the military.

Re: Dear JEB Bush ~ Feeding people should not be criminalized !

Maybe AjaxPress could hire a homeless high-school dropout as a fact checker.

It would prevent such folly as the "Watada executed" story, or the failure to do even the most basic research on what party controlls the Orlando city government.

I retracted the "Watada Executed" story ages ago.

I never once mentioned the Orlando city council being members of the G.O.P., I stated that Florida was a red state. Do you have anything to discuss about the thread topic?

LOL Same way the Republican state of Louisiana is responsible for all the murders in the Democrat-controlled New Orleans!

Good analogy. So, aren't you outraged at what that red state of yours supports in NO? Damn, filthy, neo-con, scumbag, wingnut, moronic, etc. repugs.

I already did, well before you started spewing your idiotic, misinformed "red state" nonsense.

They already have that option. They choose not to volunteer. So, the question still remains. What do you do with people who choose not to work? The only two options I see are: let them rot, or give them free housing, food, clothing, and health care, with no strings.

To place this topic more on track, I most certainly am outraged that someone would even be ostracized for feeding someone--nonetheless be held for a crime over this.

Unfortunately, I think the OP's lack of understanding of the actual ordinance is coloring your view.

The ordinance in question absolutely does not make it a crime to feed the homeless. What it does is prohibit feeding more than 25 people on public land without a permit.

To put this in perspective, if I want to have a family picnic for that many people at my local park, I would also need a permit.

But the debate is still the same. In reagards to this case, the guy shouldve just gotten a fine for not having a permit. Im not sure anyone really tried to criminalzie feeding the homeless. It still brings up the issue of what to do with the homeless. Do working people have a right to not have vagrants in their parks? Or do vagrants have a right to live in the park?
