Ex-Mexican President Vicente Fox last night on CNN
In an interview last night on CNN's "Larry King Live," the former president of Mexico, Vicente Fox, confirmed the existence of a government plan to create the amero as a new regional currency to replace the U.S. dollar, the Canadian dollar and the Mexican Peso.

It possibly was the first time a leader of Mexico, Canada or the U.S. openly confirmed a plan to create a regional currency. Fox explained the current regional trade agreement is intended to evolve into other previously hidden aspects of integration.

According to a transcript published by CNN, King, near the end of the broadcast, asked Fox a question e-mailed from a listener, a Ms. Gonzalez from Elizabeth, N.J.: "Mr. Fox, I would like to know how you feel about the possibility of having a Latin America united with one currency?"

Fox answered in the affirmative, admitting he and President Bush had agreed to pursue the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas – a free-trade zone extending throughout the Western Hemisphere – and that part of the plan was to institute a regional currency from Canada to the tip of South America.

"Long term, very long term," he said. "What we proposed together, President Bush and myself, it's ALCA, which is a trade union for all the Americas."

Comment: but our government says it isn't....
Ive seen nothing credible to indicate Bush supports replacing the Dollar with another currency. Since he wont be in office in a year, its moot anyway. All Fox did was confirm that Bush supports long term free trade.

Our future America is being designed by the Elite in secret with the intent to remove the US Constitution. It's that simple.

If this is true then it would explain Bush's refusal to seal the borders and deal with illegal aliens

It is due to the legacy of NAFTA. Although revised after the 9/11 attacks, it is still being implemented and followed. My understanding of the msot recent version with respect to security is that we work towards having no border security once our neighbors can show that they have adequate security in place. How adequate security is defined is unclear. I don't think NAFTA will go away. It is still surviving two eight-year administrations.

Most people would think this would be insane, I believe it would be an outstanding proposition - Mexico has tons of under-exploited natural resources that can more than offset the unemployment there.
I have studied it myself to a degree, Mexico as a state without the corruption that exists to the core today - would be a profitable move for America - and certainly a blessing to Mexican citizenry.

I’m curious how you would accomplish that without creating even more corruption in the federal government then we already have.

The security of our borders (NATIONAL SECURITY) is assumed in tact via the workings of the SPP. These arrangements with Canada and Mexico are un-Constitutional and require Congressional review and legal signatory process before our National Security is farmed out to foreign powers.

Hence my thread "bush threat to National Security"

How is that a disgrace. It is a sign of respect.

I actually found it amusing that when they caught Saddam, he had a huge stash of US dollars on him.

Please link to an action prompted by NAFTA, NAFTA-plus, or the SPP that violates any laws, regulations, or treaties.

You must not have been to Monclova, Tierra Blanca, Pachuca or Sahagun and many parts of Mexico City. Any OXXO stores, local restaurants, etc. etc. I think I've had more luck in Frankfurt getting people to take American Dollars. Even fast food restaurants in the Mexico City Airport. Now, VISA, they'll take that anywhere...
