Iran could develop a nuclear weapons threshold that is well within the limits of the NPT. There is also room in the NPT for a nation to develop and use nuclear weapons if they are under threat from another nuclear power. As the days go by, that threat looms larger.

A loose interpretation, at best, but relativism usually manifests in those with biased views.

Well, the entire treaty is purposely vague, and ultimately it is fully legal to withdraw from the treaty at any time prior to violating it, making any legal case null. View it as a loose interpretation if you wish, but it is an interpretation that Japan, Germany, Canada, Switzerland, Sweden, and Australia all hold for themselves.

It is ironic that you would point out a bias in me. It is quite clear that focusing on Iran's nuclear ambitions, or homophobia for that matter, as a pretext for war essentially betrays a far deeper and more sinister bias.

There is a specific protocol for having any exclusions allowed. Iran hasn't even started any steps in that direction. Comparing those states you mentioned to Iran is not quite an accurate rationalization.

And, I have no idea what your reference to homophobia is. Please expand.

Re: Bush threatens with World War III

Iran with Nukes = WWIII.

The fact he had to remind people of this is what is scary, not the fact that he said it.

Knowing this, what sane Iranian leader wouldnt want to get nukes to use as a deterrant? They would be stupid NOT to pursue nuclear technology. And with the militaristic authoritarians in charge of the White House now, I sure cant blame Iran for pursuing it.
Iran and NK didn't start their crap until after the Iraq war was started. What would you suggest; all of a sudden stop and redirect everything? Never mind, I think I know the answer.

Re: Bush threatens with World War III

Personally, I wouldn’t be surprised if WWIII does come about.
It won’t be Bush though, it’ll be Putin and his side kicks starting it.
Just today he was over in Iran kissing Armageddon’s ass, prior it was NK and Chavez. Makes me wonder what’s being planned.

Um, dude, if North Korea started their pursuit of nukes after 2003 then why were they producing plutonium in the early 90s? You know, that whole Agreed Framework thing...

As for Iran, that's exactly what I said. Thank you for proving my proving my point.

What I would suggest is learning how to provide a meaningful response, because that was a piss-poor argument.

NK was seeking nukes but we didn't know they were developing them (thank you Clinton) until after Iraq.
My mistake on Iran, I read your post too quick and I misjudged that part.

As to my piss poor argument, I took your comment to suggest that we should have switched mid-war and took on NK instead.

Bush fucked up by calling people "the axis of evil" and I do not agree with his handling of Iraq but I still think the war was/is just.
