like yelling "fire" in a crowded movie theater? Or using speech to stir up a riot? Or saying you're going to kill the president? I think there may be limitations. Just a guess.

Also - the majority of the donating military support Paul.

Even in my own house? What about my business? Can I restrict employees from making sexually offensive comments to the customers?

just post a disclaimer saying your employers may say something sexually offensive but this doesnt necessarily represent the opinions of the company to protect yourself from lawsuits

Try that in the real world and let us know how it works out for you.

There is not, nor has there ever been, a "right to free speech" in the private sector.

Re: Bridge Team Oppressed for Opposing Bushs Treason

There is no law being broken here and no constitutional issue at play.

People have a right to say things and also to be inpolite and being total a**holes
and also the right to say "shut up" and also the right to be a**holes saying other people to "shut up".

In my opinion the original players showing the hand-written sign were a little bit inpolite and a little bit out of order,
but an amount that is pretty normal and should be tolerated.

The official of the bridge association was totally being an a**hole when getting ballistic with a vengeance.
If he would have just said "please don't do that any more" that would have been perfectly fine.

What is significant is that even if there is no law being broken and this is not a "freedom of speech" issue in legal sense
this is still very much an issue of freedom in other meanings of the word.

A society that has very strict code of conduct that people are supposed to follow in order not to be shunned by fellow people
is much less free society that does not have such strict code of conduct.

The society could require that people dress always in strict business suit (or a burkha)
and not speak against the supreme commander in chief
or they would be stricken the right to be respected members of the society
or allowed to travel abroad for playing bridge in the company of other members of the association.

No laws are being broken in that, but still that would be a sad state of affairs.
I would not like to live in a non-free society like that.
I would also shake my head in disbelief when the members of that society declare themselves to be the most free people in the universe.

He has had $16,440 donated to his campaign according to Viper's links.

Ron Paul's campaign manager says the "average" donation was $500...again according to Viper's links.

Ok...so that would be about THIRTY-TWO donars.

WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What OVERHWELMING military support!

32 soldiers!!!!!!!!! Out of 2.2 MILLION.

But I give the more likely number of $1 per donation, which gives 16,340 donors...which STILL is less than 1% of 1% of the military.

yet he falsely touts this a "the majority of the military" or "number 1 with the military"

How pathetic he is to use such false statements to try to rouse support for his lunatic candidate.
