An all-female team that represented the United States at this year’s world bridge championships is facing a one-year ban from competition over a spur-of-the-moment protest against President Bush. The championships were held in Shanghai last month. At an awards dinner, one member of the U.S. bridge team held up a sign that read: “We did not vote for Bush.” The United States Bridge Federation says its considering a year-long ban of the entire team from future competition.
