Re: Rove Served Subpoena

Which part of HE WAS NOT THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK have you not figured out yet. Ever hear of Richar Armitage? He is the one who was responsible for her name being published, why aren't you fixated on him? Has it ever occured to you that the reason nobody was convicted for the leak (despite numberous people TESTIFYING that they had discussed the matter with reporters) was because no law was actually broken? The entire investigation was a travesty, the Special Prosecutor new the day he was appointed who the leaker was, and no charges were ever brought.

Story Update:
U.S. House Panel Votes to Hold Karl Rove in Contempt This is more or less a symbolic gesture. I wonder if they will go further.

Re: Rove Served Subpoena
As long as Bush keeps pressing the executive privilege dodge, and as long as the Congress still can't find their spine (except in their mouths), I figure this is about as far as it will go.

Re: Rove Served Subpoena
There will be pardons.
Many, many pardons. Probably classified pardons, too.

Re: Rove Served Subpoena
Seems logical to me. If you don't grant pardons, I'm guessing those people could be prosecuted after Bush leaves office.

Congress as asking to testify in connection with that case, not the Plame case. (D'uh!) |

Re: Rove Served Subpoena
Its moot. Executive privledge means squat even now. Congress can hold Rove in contempt, assess some sort of punishement, and rove can appeal. A court gets to decide the outcome. Im with Rove on this. Screw congress. They are abusing their power.

Were you feeling the same way with the Congress' treatment of Clinton?

I think the Pres is actually immune to prosecution for anything he does while in office, though he can be impeached. More's the pity but then the US was designed for Pols who look on Abraham Lincoln as their ideal, not the Borgia Popes. |
