And other than the insults and belittling average people, can anyone remember what she said that had any substance to it?

We're going on day 4 of this thing, and no one can tell me what "change" they will bring.

We still see a completely empty policy on the economy, other than making fun of regular people who are the backbone of this country, working jobs to help others out.

For anyone who forgets what she said, the transcript is in post No. 42.

Re: Palin Speech

She did as well as anyone could expect and probably exceeded expectations of McCain supporters. With her humble background and her short time as nominee, she commanded the stage well. Good speaker, good poise.

I expected her to make a soft appeal...but instead she leapt from an abbreviated biography into launching attacks. It's apparent that she's going to play the role of an attack dog that barks the sharpest talking points.

I assume that the McCain campaign feels that she can dish it out and then when she gets it back, they can claim that she's a victim of sexism. I'm not sure that will work out.... it worked to some degree for Hillary. Maybe people will give Palin more of a pass.

After tonight, I imagine many Democrats are feeling nervous. And a lot of republicans are having orgasms. I'm not sure that will persist for very long.

Palin is no dud.... she is exciting. But if people vote on policy, and pay attention, Palin has pretty limited appeal beyond the traditional base. In fact, she's further to the right than a lot of the Republican base, so it remains to be seen how many independents she can help peel off.

Yeah, I read them, they say she supported the bridge, and even though congress killed the earmark for the bridge, she has started construction on the connector road, and Alaska kept the money for the bridge in the state transportation budget. So not a single penny was returned.
But now she's against it, because, you know, it's politically correct.

You can look back on a hate speech if you want.

I like people like my folks who aren't just living the easy life and are actually helping people out in their lives.

You know, those lowly and insignificant "community organizers".

Now where did I hear the line "I voted for the 87 billion before I voted against it"?

You on the left are attacking everything your candidates have already done.

That's the point actually. She defended the proposal as one that would be good for Alaska. Perhaps she did so for altruistic reasons, maybe she felt (and rightly so) that it would lead to job creation in her state. The point is, either way, she was in favor of the proposal until she became Governor and after Ted Stevens threw his hissyfit on the floor of the senate when his pork wouldn't get passed. She, in fact, did NOT say "thanks, but no thanks" as she implied in her speech. Now you may not care that she's at worst, lying and at best, stretching the truth, but there's no question she's not being upfront about it.

It would be very easy for Obama et al to put out an ad with her current statement on Alaska and her previous one. No sexism, no personal attacks. Just Palin vs. Palin.

This is somebody been in Congress for 26 years, who put seven of the most powerful Washington lobbyists in charge of his campaign. And now he tells us that he’s the one who’s gonna take on the old boys' network,” he said. “In the McCain campaign that’s called a staff meeting!- Obama, 9/17/2008

Re: Palin Speech

Here is Palin' speech in a nutshell:

"Don't trust obama/biden because i don't want you to, and McCain went to Vietnam, and warfare is the only way to serve the american people"

I don't attack regular folks who keep towns going.

Palin is just another big shot ass hole who could care less about regular people.

Her speech had the polish and the sheen of a warn out Washington insider.

Of course, it was written by McCain's people.

I see two You Tube vids now from Americorps workers who are offended by her belittling speech to regular people.

You know, just because you sound like a small towner, doesn't mean you care about them.

"Hate speech". How rich.

If you don't want to look at the speech or listen to it, I really am not surprised.

Yeah this I think was the biggest flaw in her speech. She's going to have to address this because she will be questioned about it.

And don't forget, "And the people on the streets helping to educate people and keep people in their homes, FUCK YOU, because I have actual responsibility!".

America likes a gracious new face, not a new face that spews condescention. I'm putting my faith in the people now to recognize this.
