America likes a gracious new face, not a new face that spews condescention. I'm putting my faith in the people now to recognize this.
"Condescension". That's even richer.

It is sort of mean-spirited to put down community organizers. Community organizers don't work in the field because they want to be powerful, they do it because they want to help. It's like making fun of someone for doing community service....

If Palin had actually said "F*** YOU" about community organinzers, then she would hav been a jerk. She was comparing her experience as mayor to that of BHO's as community orgainizer. Mayors have more responsibility. But, read the speech and judge for yourself (Post No. 42).

I listened to it. I mean I realize it was a joke and I didn't take the comment too seriously, but to me, and everyone has their impressions, it did come across as a little mean-spirited.

Nobody likes a new person who comes in and belittles you.

She was popular with her base, but that's because they don't share the problems that a lot of average people have. That's why she didn't utter a word about the economy.

People have to actually like you first before you berate them sarcasm and smugness.

It's all a great big joke, I agree. And many conservatives, like Nazis, fall right in line with it. "We're average people! Todd is snow machine champ! 5 KIDS!".

They like to act so tough but their whole set up on bamboozling regular folks is by making you "feel" for them. Republicans are hijacked by sentimentality and not a trace of actual strategy.

And they want regular people to believe that it's somehow Democrats who are shipping all their jobs overseas and stuff.

I'd love to say Americans are smarter than that, but since the GOP crowd is a split between Wall Street and Hee Haw, I'd never accuse that room of being too quick.

What a sick joke, that the very people who are selling the country to the highest bidder are sharing the room with the very people whose jobs are being shipped elsewhere. Only a cult would bring those two together in unison like that.

I smell fear. It's thick.

I smell fear as well.

Any party that can't even talk about the economy is obviously afraid of being hammered on it.

Not really. I think the speech had some good points, and some really bad points. Neutral effect.

I still think she's a trainwreck.
