A lot of her staff apparently want Palin on, but Oprah and a few others do not. Instead of being a champion for women, Oprah shows her true colors as a blind partisan. I am betting the pressure will get her to cave. She already lost a lot of viewers by supporting Obama over Clinton.

Since Oprah is openly supporting Obama, and her show is not some kind of news program, then why the hell should she have Palin on?

Oprah is a talk show host, not a journalist. Why is this relevant again? I thought the Republicans didn't want Republican endorsements. Odd.

Not now, but historically I am surprised. Oprah never seemed to be a partisan before this campaign. I never remember her endorsing people before, though I could be wrong. For someone who has been THE voice for women for twenty years I would think she would want to have the second women to be nominated to be VP (and the first one while she has been on TV) on her show.

Perhaps she sees Palin as a transparent attempt to gain women's votes.

Yeah, Oprah shouldn't be made to feel redundant on her show...

it's her show...it is what it is...if she is taking her endorsement of Obama over having Palin on - then that is her choice.

That would be a good reason for Oprah to have Palin on her show. I'm sure lots of people would watch it. However, I think Oprah is in a position where she doesn't have to worry all that much about ratings at this point in time. If ever you see Oprah's ratings start to tank, then she might very well decide to invite guests on her show with whom she disagrees.

I always suspected she was a Dem, but that's just because she happens to be a talk show host who is a black woman and works out of Chicago. Usually when people have such a vast fortune there may be the odd hint that they maybe Republicans due to not wanting the shit taxed out of their earnings and assets but generally their over-riding do-gooding attitude gets the better of them.

She is a self made woman, and that is why women like her and make up over 75% of her audience. Do you not think they might want to see her ask Palin some questions?

If she did what would she ask her? Political questions that Oprah doesn't support? It would turn into a debate with a VP nominee and a daytime talk show host. Not something people tune on the channel for. Also, their tv viewing base are usual more on the liberal side.
