Re: "John McCain suspends campaigning..."

I was watching McCain give his speech this morning at the Clinton Global Initiative or whatever it's called. I need help with the following...

Why did McCain spend nearly 75% of his speech time talking about things not involved with the current bailout? It looked more like an excuse to just prattle off his talking points.

If the economic bailout is such an important issue and he simply must attend to the Senate, shouldn't he have bypassed giving the speech this morning altogether?

On a seperate issue, McCain said that he couldn't do David Letterman because he had to go to Washington. As it turns out McCain had to more talking points he needed to prattle off with Katie Couric. This guy is so dishonest.

But he really showed his leadership through Katrina, where he did an abolutely fatastic job in taking care of his state's residents.

Re: "John McCain suspends campaigning..."

One of two faces the electorate can take. But here's a brief review of the faces of McCain.

Part I

1) 2000 McCain we remember

2) After Bush/Rove slandered him with the baby thing

3) Opposing Bush early on in his first term

4) Falling hook, line and sinker to invade Iraq

5) Coming out of left field and saving the day with the "surge"

6) Presidential campaign running a deficit, may have to drop out

7) But his Maverickness returns

Part II

8) And wins the nomination....of course

9) Finds Gov.Palin

10) Gets his mojo back

11) But the gaffes pile up and the chick was actually great from far, but far from great

12) And the sky began to fall!

13) But he put on the wrong face!

14) And it cost him the whole race.

He was so friendly, but underneath it was like, "We poured $5 million buck into this shindig and it's not a slight to southern hospitality to take an invitation back".

Sweet.

Priceless. Although I think the face of John McCain circa 2008 has simply been a mask.......he truly isn't the same man....and he's definitely no longer his own man.

Re: "John McCain suspends campaigning..."

McCain's desperate gamble to take control of the campaign isn't going to work. He will rightly be seen as afraid to debate Obama if he doesn't show up Friday. Not that I blame him, if I were inarticulate and a bumbler I would be scared too.

Obama says, "not so fast, Tough Guy!" The Show will go on Friday night!

Obama Will Make Debate A Townhall If McCain Doesn't Show

Barack Obama is committed to hosting a public, televised event Friday night in Mississippi even if John McCain does not show up, an official close to the Obama campaign tells the Huffington Post.

In McCain's absence, the Senator is willing to make the scheduled debate a townhall meeting, a one-on-one interview with NewsHour's Jim Lehrer, or the combination of the two, the official said. [snip]

It's like driving down the highway...past a traffic jam in the opposing lanes...you get down further and see a car speeding along in the opposing lanes...and you laugh knowing that pinhead doing 100mph has no idea that he'll be coming to a complete halt in about 90 seconds.

Behold B.O.'s Charlie Brown to McCain's Lucy... You'll see. It's the sport of kings. Better than diamond rings.

Cute, but just what is McCain going to do to stop Obama from simply showing up and talking to the people? McCain's immaturity is amazing, there are only 40 days until the election and he wants to play these games.

How can you support an idiot like McCain? Don't you care about the nation? You sport a flag on your page, but you support a 72 year old child and his incompetent fool of a VP?

It is with great anticipation and amusement that I invite you to simply watch.

This is going to be slick as shit - one might even start to think that Rove is back in the mix.

Seriously. This is going to be fun. For me. You? Not so much.

I sense great anger in this one. I fear it shall be his undoing.

I'd gladly refute the points you made, but I couldn't find them.

Why don't you go tear up the Internet and see if you can find a single accomplishment you can attribute to your candidate - a compelling reason to vote for him. Or compute pi to the final digit...might be easier and take less time.

Boy, do you have an imagination. McHoover's Big Move is unraveling before his eyes. Obama is going on with the show without him, if need be, and the players in DC say they don't need his help. McCain's disingenuous claim to put his country first isn't fooling anybody.
Candidates' debate still on - Decision '08 - MSNBC.com

Democratic Congressman Barney Frank, chairman of the House committee shepherding the bailout plan, said all sides were getting close to a deal and accused McCain of "trying to take credit for something that's already happening without him."
