Nope, just didnt see the need to answer it.

But I will. The media did not smear him, it just examined this fellow claiming to represent average America.

Agree? Didnt think so.

That's too bad. I hope Joe stays on the scene in some capacity. I always enjoyed his deep and meaningful insights on foreign affairs.

The Ohio Democrat Party most certainly smeared him or did you forget about employees of the Strickland administration having to resign their jobs after it was discovered they abused their positions in the government by illegally accessing his personal information and leaking it to the media?

The man was most definitely demonized by the party and the left wing of the blogosphere. He was a private citizen who was ruthlessly attacked by a political party and its private lackeys. That's the kind of thing that goes on in banana republics, not here in the U.S., not until now anyway.

Obviously he just doesn't like the answer, so he's pleading the 5th.

So you noticed that too?

When did Joe proclaim that he represents "average America"?

Oh that's right, he didn't

Actually, it was John McCain, during the third debate (Oct. 15, 2008), who made "Joe the Plumber" a representation for the average American. Thereafter the McCain-Palin campaign repeatedly used the image they had themselves created. All that Wurzelbacher did was capitalize on an image that was handed to him by the presidential candidate.

In fact, there has been little about Wurzelbacher's behavior to suggest that he thinks he is "average" in any way.

Of course, these stations wouldn't put Joe - or anyone else who doesn't fit with their agenda on their schedules. They're liberal, whereas what we actually need in the US, is UNBAISED media reporting. Shame that we are unlikely to get it.
What prominent shows you ask? What prominent shows? Why are you being so deliberately dense? Clearly, we're talking about prominent news shows on all the major networks and CNN. Did I really have to spell out for you?

Can you site examples of this "attack" you speak of? Attack, in this sense, would be some sort of smear campaign or spreading of untruths. I believe the media did their job by actually finding out the truth about this many some call "Joe The Plumber" Its quite telling that you would, somehow, perceive fact-telling as some sort of "attack."

Then amid allegations that Obama was a socialist, Obama made his infamous "spread the wealth around" statement in response to Joe's question. Basically admitting that he's a commie/pinko. The left got pissed off because Joe squeezed a little tidbit of truth out of Obama and they had to use millions of dollars worth of air-time to recover from the mistake. And the way they did that was to attack Joe personally and try to impugn his charachter.
Again, can you site exactly how this "impugning of character" come about? Was there any LIES being told by the media about the man? Answer this please.

Another funny thing about Steve, The Republicans, Conservatives and their ilk is how they like to revise history, their favorite pasttime, and act like somehow this so-called "Joe The Plumber" was raised up to fame and prominense by the left. What happened was, he got a good soundbite in initally, and FOXNews saw the potential and ran with it. THEY rose him to fame and prominense, obsessing about him in all their hourly news reports, inviting him on their talk shows, inviting him to their conventions, hell he McCain and Palin themselves took him under their wing. This was because it was the RIGHT that found this fool so fascinating...not the LEFT. That was the sequence of things. The Right lifted him up to heaven and the left tried to bring him back down to earth, NOT by lies or "impugning" or "attacks" or whatever other Patsy excuses those pansy asses like to come up with.

Just a sample of the fuckry that went on thanks to the Right...

And, yet, it's a lib who considers him, as evidenced by the title of this thread, to be a GOP "big gun".

Conservatives are smart enough to realize he's not...

Are you kidding?

To cite one example I'll point to MSNBC. Keith Olbermann from MSNBC referred to Joe as a "two-headed heifer" a "poster boy" and a "fool" and later accused him of "reinforcing racism" on primetime TV!!!. And it was replayed over and over again by MSNBC.

I was waiting for him to call Joe a "poopy-butt". And basically it is no different. It's childish name-calling, plain and simple.

I don't know where you come from, but here in the USA if you call someone a "two-headed heifer" and a "poster boy" it is considered to be a personal insult. In other words, an ad hominem attack.

Re: The GOP Losses Another One Of Their Big Guns...

"Joe the Plummer"--a heavy weight in the Republican party? I don't think so. Just an ordinary man that caught a Presidential candidate without his teleprompter one day & got him to disclose his plans for America--within two sentences. Which was: Work harder--so I can redistribute it to others--who don't work as hard as you-& "maybe" they'll hire a plumber such as you.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A LIBERAL & CONSERVATIVE: A liberal is typically more concerned about distributing the eggs that the Golden Goose lays, a conservative is typically more concerned with the health of the Golden Goose.

At least Obama stated pretty clearly that he was more interested in spreading the wealth than in concentrating it between himself and his circle of friends.

The GOP can't ever come out and actually say that: We stand for the right to swindle all the country's money and line the pockets of our donors, therefore can the rest of you pricks pull yourself up by your boot-straps and get workin' for our great swindle? Now go!

You forget that this whole mess with the economy came about because well over $700 billion was distributed wholesale to the top 1% from the bottom 99%.

If the head of the company were still only making 40 times the amount of the person at the bottom end of the company, instead of the now 400+ times more than they make than that of the lowest at the company, the current recession would have been avoided altogether.

Keith Olbermann you cite? Keith Olbermann?!?? C'mon dude, do better. Keith is a talk show host, not necessarily news. I didn't list MSNBC for a reason. Stick to the major networks and bring back an attack. O'Reilly insults someone almost everytime he opens his trap...uhhh...mouth.

Try again.

And O'Reilly isn't a talk show host, not necessarily news?

I mean, if one is dismissed for being a talk show host, why not both?

I'm curious because I don't listen to either.

I deliberately cited an equally ridiculous example to make my point.

You get it?
