Re: Sarah Palin Farewell Speech
Yep, sarah is a joke to you libs! Is it because she is really smarter that our "dear leader", or perhaps you yourself?
All I know is that she wasn't the one who made a laughing stock of herself by opening her mouth and inserting foot as Obama did with the arrest of his Harvard buddy. How can anyone clain that Obama is smart, when he makes a fool of himself by contradicting everything he says? Where is the proof that he is "smart" Wise up koolaid drinkers! |

PS: Not a fan of obama or a "koolaid" drinker, but he's not an idiot. He is a highly intelligent, highly capable, very well educated and well spoken individual. That doesn't change the fact that i disagree with his views. |

GOP have better people than here. I would think that there party has some great people in them which can great a good debate in the US. I would favor a bi weekly debate between the leader of the opposition and the President. With topics agreed beforehand by a poll or committee. This comes from European Parliaments where Leaders question time is the most watched part of politics. Makes decent TV and it can create great debate. It is importantly makes the President be it GOP or Dem justify his actions. It allows the opposition to ask as many follow up questions as he wants.. Right in Europe they have a packed house of representatives of either party just heckling which kind of makes it funny, gives the whole gladiatorial feeling. |

I would love to have a real average American in the WH but I want to feel confident that my President knows what he/she is doing. I don't have that confidence in Palin and I don't have that confidence in Obama either. Full Disclosure - I supported Romney and than grudgingly voted for McCain. |

Re: Sarah Palin Farewell Speech
I don't want an average american running the country. I want an exceptional american running the country. However, I don't want one that exceptionally directs everything towards favoring corporate america, which pretty much sums up the last 30 years of presidents (or longer).
Palin isn't exceptional, other than being exceptionally bad. Obama's resume suggests he is exceptional, unfortunately, he has chosen the "corporate america over its people" strategy, thus making his presidency a dud, IMO. Ron Paul is the only republican who probably wouldn't completely sell out to corporate america if he were president. Unfortunately for him, the corporate-run media and campaigns knew that and sidelined him before the campaign season even started. |

The president should be exceptional intellectually. He/She should be the best of the best, ideally. Be it a conservative or democrat.. Obama is obviously very bright. I can understand people disagreeing with him. He is bringing the US culturally in a new direction in places. I do believe in his sincerity as I did believe in Bush's sincerity to good for America. |

Interesting. Be sure and let the business community know about that. The general view is that he is a thorough-going leftist. I suppose he will start his pro-business policies soon. Keep us informed...... |

Palin's political career has a circus-like aspect to it. That may not have been her fault at the beginning, as she was treated from the beginning with an avalanche of spiteful and obnoxious abuse - the snooty left at its worst. However, she quickly proved she does not have the training, the background or the depth of understanding that I want to see in a candidate. She may be intelligent, but she lacks wisdom and she is extremely provincial. I know that sounds snobbish, but I mean it sincerely. Her world is too small. That is not necessarily related to where she is from. Truman and Eisenhower were both from small towns and they certainly were not provincial. If she is the candidate in 2012, there will be no victory for the GOP |

He bailed out the banks. He bailed out the automakers. He has pretty much taken the pro-corporation stance on most issues whether it helps the american people or not (of course he argues that it does). He's giving the drug companies what they want (no discounts for large federal buyers), hes giving the insurance companies what they want (forced participation by all americans into private insurance). Let me know when he stops shilling for corporate america please. Maybe leftist now means catering to giant money interests while ignoring the common citizen, but I didn't get the memo. Obama is as liberal as bush was conservative. |

For real! I mean... come on! Former Harvard grad vs. former community college pageant queen. There's no contest!
Yeah.... I'll show you Obama's birth certificate if you show me Palin's high school diploma. |

now i will concede that this only makes him smart in a general sense, and not neccessarily wise in politics. politics is more of an image propoganda game than it is an intelligence game. and with all the talking heads, all the hateful pundits, all of the twisted spin coming from media outlets, this machine can make anyone look dumb.
