I fully understand the census....it is used many times to determine where funding will be used.
Funding that is taxpaid.

And you know as I do, that illegal immigrants can and are getting some of that money.

Well, it is difficult to say exactly how much income taxes is paid by undocumented immigrants, but it is blatantly false to say that they don't pay taxes.

They also, obviously, pay withheld taxes.

Income taxes aside, they pay all kinds of taxes, sales taxes, tobacco taxes, gas taxes, etc. Illegal immigrants contribute billions in tax revenue. Based on the per capita revenue from sales taxes in 2007 ($365, the national average) multiplied by let's say 12 million, equals $4,380,000,000 illegal immigrants pay in sales taxes alone. That ain't chump change.

true, that is no chump change....but it cost more than quad that just to house the ones in our prisons.

and add to that the cost of hospital closings from none payment in illegal over populated areas, added cost to us in healthcare to recoup some of that loss…..and etc, etc, etc.

true some pay taxes....taxes that would have been paid by an legal American doing said work.

But I still say more are not paying taxes...or else businesses would have a hard time explaining themselves on the proper state and federal paperwork as to why they are paying these people lower than minimal wages.

Why? The point of the census is to count people who are there, regardless of whether or not they can identify themselves.
