Don't now why I let myself get suckered into answering this, but WTH.

For a middle aged married woman who has had some kids, she looks fine. Certainly better than a Helen Thomas. Nor do I think she's the spawn of Satan.

Like many potential dates, the downfall would be the moment she opened her mouth and offered an opinion on something. The ugly ones - you can always put a paper bag over the head. The dumb ones....

Oh, and there's one other thing that even 2 dozen Cuba Libres couldn't correct, involves the downstairs plumbing......

I am surprised by the responses.
    Of course it is sexist.
Answer this - would they do this to Joe Leiberman? John Kerry?
    So why Palin?

You are the one person in this world who will live according to the choices you make. Live life like there is a tomorrow.

How is it sexist to republish a picture on the cover of a magazine that she took willingly to put on the cover of a magazine?

Unflattering pictures of men have been republished as well.

the libs always make a bid deal anytime she does anything. she could be shown in a photo drinking a pepsi and the libs would have all the talk shows filled with pics of her and the pepsi and asking question like, "why does she have such a dislike for Coke and what does it mean for the the GOP and look at how she is tearing apart the GOP by drinking pepsi over coke.

I cannot recall seeing her in shorts in any venue.....I wonder if they would consider a photo of Oprah, or a male figure in like attire.......somehow I don't think so.

If they had just put a pic. up of her, as is, it would be just the usual Newsweek hit piece.

To anyone capable of reading: Palin would blow away in the wind if the lefty media turned their cameras away from her.

Right. It's the leftist media meme that amuses me. The photographer: sold that picture to NewsWeek. It was scheduled for Runner's World, but, not to miss a opportunity, the photographer (who will probably not shoot any big celebrities for quite a wahile: it's a trust issue now) made a better play.

This is right in line with Plain allowering herself to be interviewed with a turkey being slaughtered in the background.

This whole thing is a joke: it'll be over soon.

Leftist media - right. You use the "hunt and peck" method I suppose.

Still seems like much ado about nothing though. It's not like she is attired in something she wouldn't be, such as a racy bathing suit. She's a former beauty queen...was that sexist to hold and cheap of her to attend? She utilises and markets her good looks in a conservative valued mother way...is that her exploiting her looks for political and marketing purposes in an inappropriate fashion? IMO, no. She also is well known for playing up the flag waiving, casting herself and supporters as the 'real Americans' etc. She can't have it both ways for setting up the very presentations she projects where she believes they are advantageous by turning the 'sexist' card on criticisms of it because she doesn't like the critical content. That's just her playing politics once again in a routine attempt to inoculate herself from her critics--to be expected given her trade--but one that should be easily spotted for what it is.

Oprah, IIRC, did have plenty of glamour shots when she was on her skinny sides. In fact, she's been the subject of all sorts of shots that mix glamour with her various frames for various purposes.

The article, however, seems certainly unfavourable to Palin. I haven't read it so I can't judge its fairness. A 'hit piece' implies unfair attacks and allegations, etc. She does invokes plenty of controversies, even by her own initiation and/or performances, including within the GOP itself where she's controversial for the points the article presumably discusses. Again, one can't have it both ways in how one frames onesself, performs, goes after others, etc, even inside the party.

Joe Lieberman hardly tries to utilise his 'physical attractiveness' as an asset because he can't. Kerry tried given at least he's fit, etc, but the hair and fake tans, etc, became more of a point of jokes and it became his own liability rather than his benefit. It's just pretty hard for older men to make themselves look sexy moreso than sexy in a 'refined/intelligent' way. For example, old Sean Connery was considered 'sexy' but he wasn't trying to do it with his shirt off and in bathing trunks like the young Bond Connery. And forget the fake tans for Connery later on. It's just two different things with one's age.

Some people get luckier than others with age and can do some mixed approaches. Palin is still hot in her mid-40s where even young men would be happy to take a shot if she offered, so she has a very wide range of attractiveness. But she still looks her age instead of looking like a college woman; she's just a MILF. She plays to her age and appearance quite well as a hot conservative married mom and politician.

so a woman whom is attractive automatically markets her looks?.....I see. Its just occurred to me, you really despise her…..oh well, no point in going on.

Automatically? I think he just said she does market them, not that she does so automatically. People tend to use the assets they have. Some hold back. Others hold back to a lesser extent. I hear the 0 is pretty good at reading from teleprompters, so that is what he presumably does (I don't watch the 0 too much). Didn't Joe Biden wash a car without a shirt with others watching?

Just in general, or to you personally?

I mean imagine the foreplay, it'd be comical:

    Bere:

".....and so thus in summary, that is why i support a unified Ireland".

    Palin:

"Well i couldn't fail to disagree with you less O'sullivan. By that what i mean of course is that i have experience with Ireland too, i mean two, sorry. Because many people have said that Alaska is an Island given its unique Geographical position in the middle of America, Russia and Canada, which is why i think Alaska should have independance and be its own country".
