    Congressman Etheridge Assaults College Student

Holy shit! The kid asks him a question and he blows a fuse. Is asking a member of Congress if they support the Obama agenda that provocative of a question?

Wow. He should have to answer for that in front of a judge, IMHO. Pretty clear case of battery there.

That's funny. The kid says "please let go of my arm sir". So he lets go of his wrist and grabs him by his neck.

Well.... where would you rather have me to grab you?

    "Don't Ask" Congressman Etheridge Style

Additionally, by then, some of the TEA Party candidates will have stumbled and failed. By then maybe the good looks factor for Palin, Bachman, and Young may have worn thin, and the pay-your-doctor-with-a-chicken ideas will have been shown for the silliness they are.

Oh yeah, the Democrats should be able to increase their leads in both houses, come November (when there actually is an election.
    I just love this quote…

And on that note, the long hot summer gets into gear

YouTube - Congressman Assaults Student on Washington Sidewalk

That’s right, a student has the nerve to ask a Congressman a question and gets his head handed to him… almost literally.

Last week, Democrat Congressman Bod Etheridge (D-NC2) attended a fundraiser headlined by Speaker Nancy Pelosi. He was asked by some students on the street whether he supported the “Obama Agenda.” As you can see he didn’t take it well.

So, yeah, looks like Democrats who are up for reelection this November are a bit testy.

Seems like Congressman Etheridge doesn’t think that “the Democrats will have a great story on employment numbers, unemployment improvements, health care reform, Wall Street reform, and national security. Democrats may even have started a positive dialog in America on immigration reform.” At least he didn’t want to talk about it the other day.

    What say you?

lol, yep.. and if it was a republican senator and a progressive kid, you would think just the opposite, but relax i would still think he would need to be charged.

If I were the kid, I don't know that I would press charges. I think the complete humiliation Etheridge is going to receive from this video going viral will probably be sufficient punishment. It could possibly cost him reelection if it gets enough attention. He does represent a district that leans slightly Republican.

Holy crap, get this man away from any sort of position that has any sort of responsibility. Zero excuse for such behavior.

    Is he drunk?

WHO ARE YOU?! WHO ARE YOU?!
The intellectual journey that had began with Copernicus displacing humans from the centre of the Universe and continued with Darwin’s insistence that humans are merely modified monkeys has finally focused in on the very essence of life. And there was nothing special about it. The double helix is an elegant structure, but its message is downright prosaic: life is simply a matter of chemistry.

True enough... but the bigger question is: when are public officials, of all flavors, going to realize that when someone points a phone at you they have you on video?

I'd imagine the amount of elected officials who understand how technology works is probably pretty damn low. That doesn't, of course, hamper them from passing all sorts of laws dealing with it, though.
