Can I suggest that travelling to NK to do missionary work is blatant stupidity? WTF. I wonder what happened to the $700,000 fine, did the US pay that on behalf of this nutjob?

IMO, any US citizen that ventures into NK is on their own.

Yep, I agree. I still am puzzled about the Americans who crossed over into Iran. I think both are in the running for the Darwin Award.

When I heard of American hikers in Iraq(what? are they stupid to be hiking in Iraq or what?) got even more stupid by crossing into Iran, to get caught and imprisoned, my first thought was, stupidity is very dangerous and can kill you.

Then I thought, perhap this was an intelligence gathering mission. I hope it is this latter reason and not the former. If the former, it sure makes Americans look stupid to everyone else in the world.

We dont know that they did cross over. No one was there watching except the Iranians. The hikers claim they didnt, so it all hearsay. Also, its unlikely it was an intelligence mission as there was no intelligence to be gathered where they were. As you say it would be really stupid to go about gathering intelligence that way. But its interesting we will rescue a missionary who purposefully invaded north korea, vs 3 hikers who may have accidently invaded Iran.

Estimates say its the source up to 50% of the Hard currency Nor Kor gets its hands on...........

They also rip us off mightily up there taking anything we build there and don't nail down....at the time these morons (the 2 girls) got taken we qwere in the act of telling Nor kor sorry charlie no more money for the industrial park....BUT that all ended when clinton came back WITH the 2 morons.....

Its not proof, but an article that shows some evidence they never crossed into Iran, except when the Iranian guards 'abducted' them on Iraqi soil. Additionally, the guy in charge of the forces that arrested them has been arrested in Iran for committing several murders.
