If a man were behind four months on his mortgage and was talking to you about his plans to build an addition on his home you would think him daft and delusional. But in Washington, ignoring a current crisis to discuss grand dreams is called “boldness” and “vision.”

ONLY A LIBERAL WOULD KNOW HOW TO PUT A NICOTINE PATCH ON A MONKEY

It’s not a regular venue for unionized collective bargaining, it’s a state budget cut. The view given by the media, teachers, and there supporters is dishonest.
Be that as it may, on proper venue I would support the teachers if this was real.
Anarchy, deceit and fraud kills any credibility the teachers hope to have, I mean for goodness sakes, one couldn't tell by watching the news if they were watching the teachers in Wisconsin or riots in Egypt.

The funny part is the taxpayers just have to be told some simple facts. the Governor wants them to pay 5-6% of their pension costs from the 2-3 percent they pay now.. meaning the TAXPAYERS will still be picking up 94%.
he also wants them to pay for about 125 of their health benefits instead of the 6-7 they pay meaning taxpayers will still be paying the remaining 88%.
Nice benefits huh? how many taxpayers get those benefits?
that should be what the governer says everytime he addresses the people.
“Are vital U.S. interests more imperiled by what happens in Iraq where were have 50,000 troops, or Afghanistan where we have 100,000, or South Korea where we have 28,000 -- or by what is happening on our border with Mexico?...What does it profit America if we save Anbar and lose Arizona?”

You're obviously not paying attention, since the union said on Friday they would give into all the financial aspects of what the Governor wanted, but that collective bargaining rights must remain in place.
The Governor said at a press conference later on Friday that he would scrap the entire proposal BUT for the collective bargaining rights, which means this is definitely NOT A BUDGET CUT ISSUE.
You may be right, if he would tell the truth, this would soon be over. The truth being that the Koch brothers financed his election and now are having him toeing the mark of union busting. Of course, he's only doing it for those unions that didn't support him during the election.
Yes, the truth from him would be nice. However, he's a member of the new GOP, and truth is like poison to him.

OK, so how do you place the needed distance between elected officials who do the negotiating on the tax payer's behalf and the unions?
We know that the Governor's solution is to limit collective bargaining to compensation only. You object to that. OK. What's your solution to breaking up the unholy and corrupt alliance between politicians and unions? Or is your position that this is no problem?
Just consider that the situation we find ourselves in now does have it's roots in this relationship, and it's cost the tax payers plenty.
It'd be one thing if this was a solution to a problem that doesn't exist, but it is very clear that a problem exists.
