M&I did contribute to Walker (at least I'm assuming so as I have no reason to doubt the story). That would have been last year before the elections which happened in Nov. The bank was then sold to BMO in Dec. This "punishment" which is being exacted is being directed at people that had absolutely nothing to do with the Walker campaign and, in fact, aren't even a US company.
So help us out, and tell us where those anti-worker banker thugs went. So the might of the workers might be redirected at them.

It must be searing for conservatives to see middle class citizens finally saying "enough" to being the scapegoats of the Upper Classes and the political party that those "Upper Classes" own.
Be patient, unless this health care fiasco gets re-tooled we'll see a real life version of "Logans Run".

You know, I don't have any problem at all with folks looking out for themselves but this "class warfare" stuff is based on warped ideologies and serious misunderstandings of the relationships (and even the definitions) of wealth, money and value. It's left wing fear mongering and it's dangerous.

    That's one thing.

The thing that REALLY gets my hackles up is that these fuckers are supposed to be providing a service for the State. They volunteered for the position but now they don't like the way things are going and they're too arrogant to quit as well as being too selfish to focus on what they were hired to do. These people don't give a rats ass about serving the public.

Typical union.....get someone else to do your job for you and just sit back and collect your paycheck.

Bank that funded Walker, now Closed

So the firefighters got pissed off at M&I Bank because they contributed to Walker during his campaign and took out all their money plus encouraged others to take theirs out as well.

That's right fellas! Go get 'em!

Perhaps they never got the memo but last December M&I got sold to BMO (Bank of Montreal)!

What the hell....it doesn't really matter who you attack as long as somebody takes it in the shorts for you, right?
No big deal. It won't be much longer and most of the banks in this country will be closing their doors anyway. Do you trust YOUR bank?

The greedy right wing sucks the life out of the middle class, and when the middle class objects, the right wing calls it class warfare.

It is class warfare, and maybe the right wing's relentless attacks on the middle class have finally gone too far.

They "volunteered?" No, they didn't "volunteer." "Volunteer" is when you spend a weekend chaperoning the local Boy Scout troop.

State workers, like workers in any civilized society, entered into a contract to provide their services in return for a set of benefits.
Amazingly, showing more class and selflessness than you'll ever see in a greedy conservative, they agreed to give up some of those contracted benefits in response to their state's budget "crisis."

But when the greedy Republican governor demanded that they not only give up their contracted benefits, but also give up their right to bargain as equal partners, then they protested, peacefully, with the means they had available to them.

They protested in the finest traditions of American democracy and the long, on-going struggle to enforce a bit of fairness in the relationship between employer and employee.

Frankly, I don't rely on my bank(s) for a whole lot nor am I invested in them. There's enough in there to pay bills but when deposits accumulate more than I need they go to my broker. It makes absolutely no sense to me to have vast stores of cash (or even little ones) just sitting there doing nothing.

I'm sorry. Apparently I was unaware that they were coerced into taking the positions they hold.

As far as giving up their right to bargain collectively....no, they didn't. Even now they have the option of pooling their services in a corporation (it could even be a non-profit), maintaining their union, and still bargaining with the State for a service contract. Their CBA would simply be with "Teachers, Inc." or whatever they decided to call themselves rather than with the State.
