Only 6% of NPR funding comes from the federal government, and that is mostly to member stations. I don't think they'll go belly up because of a 6% reduction in revenue.
I don't know the numbers for planned parenthood.
Liberals fail to recognize that modern conservatives are direct evidence of the failure of the public education system.
"Chaplain Charlie will tell you about how the free world will conquer Communism with the aid of God and a few marines! God has a hard-on for marines because we kill everything we see! He plays His games, we play ours! To show our appreciation for so much power, we keep heaven packed with fresh souls! God was here before the Marine Corps! So you can give your heart to Jesus, but your ass belongs to the Corps! Do you ladies understand?"

Unfortunately, the government part of NPR goes to putting the shows out to rural areas. If this is cut, and more donations are not forthcoming, rural America, especially the children, will not be quite as educated or well rounded as they are now. Cutting education is only for the ignorant that hope others stay as ignorant and do not lift themselves to a higher station.

Most Americans are divided on what NPR considers educational programming, in fact they have taken it upon themselves to be a main source of liberal propaganda and normalizing.
And yet it is the same for the public education system, one sided gobalty gook on what to think instead of how to think.Cutting education is only for the ignorant that hope others stay as ignorant and do not lift themselves to a higher station.

Pretty much it in a nutshell. Take history for example, memorize the dates on which such and such happened.
But much, much more important than what happened. WHY? If you do not understand why, just knowing what is useless information.
Why is a question teachers rarely ask anymore.

Teachers have nothing to do with the ACA, NPR nor PP, the title of this thread. The programs of NPR, especially NPR radio has nothing to do with dates and such and such. Especially, the money coming from the tax payers go to allowing NPR to provide programs for the rural parts of the country, and they are mostly quite middle of the road and very factual, and educational.
Of course, most of the righties like the good old warm gut feeling of hate that they get on Fox. Even this isn't free, as it cost them their intelligence and understanding of the real facts.

It was an answer to another post.
If NPR can't stand on it's own, it should not. If PP can't stand on it's own, it should not.
I oppose any funds taken from me to fund either. If you support them so strongly, send them all your excess income. I will not stop you, and in fact will applaud your support of your convictions.
You will not support your convictions, you want me to support them for you.

Admittedly, our public education in general isn't as good as that of our peers.
Of course, how could it be, when evolution is pushed out of many curriculums? How could our education systems be as good as that of Finland when teaching is considered one of the most prestigious professions there while it seems to be relatively lowly regarded here? How could our education systems compare to that of Canada when school boards like the Texas one decide to rewrite history?
