Denmark, the Neatherlands, Germany, Sweden, Norway, and others do a far better job of providing a web of support for the needy, whereas the United States is far more concerned with supporting the rich and powerful--the opposite of what Jesus preached.

What's so pathetic is that so many "Christians" in this country (Barbara Bachmann and Sarah Palin come to mind) would never recognize Jesus were he "to return."

Call me a braggart but you can add Canada to that list. However if you were to ever actually SAY Canada was a Christian nation you'd get a hockey puck in the mouth then an apology.

I don't think so. It don't know if anyone asked the thousands of calls pouring into the NBC switchboard were Christian so how can you say that?

Although I am a Christian I would prefer "under God" removed from the pledge just to stop the fighting.

But, it is the legally approved version and a multinational corporation has no right to arbitrarily change it...

Actually, NBC didn't break any laws, and they had every right to change it if they wanted to. They only violated the US Flag Code, which isn't any kind of punishable offense.

How do you equate not mentioning god to showing disrespect to the country?

But they will likely suffer in the pocketbook big time...the PGA of America (easily confusable with the PGA, but its muddling as to who appropriates the televeision coverage rights and who doesn't), is already indicating that NBC's contract with expires at the end of next year will not be renewed further and the 2010 addition of ESPN will continue concurrently with CBS. And NBC is the only netowrk that shows 4 full days of golf per major and yet the PGA still want to dump them. This one is just last in the line of extremely costly mistakes by NBC.

Is that your foolproof defense? If someone asks something, just say they don't understand because they didn't agree with you outright?

I wonder why Tim Tibow never displayed Luke 12:34 in his eyeblack? Or Matthew 19:21?

Or for trotting one's religion about in public, Matthew 5?

The Christians I admire are those who I don't even know are Christians. The ones I despise are those who act like they've never given one moment's thought to Jesus's message yet are forever brandishing his name as if they own him.
