Here is a golden opportunity for Romney to contrast himself with Obama.
I would suggest something along these lines: " If the people in your country have a problem with free speech it is your problem, not ours."

Obama administration airs ads in Pakistan, condemning anti-Islam film - POLITICO.com
We're spending taxpayer money to run ads in Pakistan apologizing for the video that is allegedly behind the latest round of mindless Islamic violence?
What the hairy fuck, over?
Mr. President, how dare you apologize for the First Amendment?

Second thought, that's worded a little strongly.
It might piss them off and they'll end up burning our embassy and killing people over it.

He is doing the smart and responsible thing, as he represents the american people. Today the entire muslim world are in mobs burning the american flag over this inflamatory film that had one intent...to cause exactly what we have seen since this erupted.
The fact is this, and you can jeer at it, but it's still a fact. These Muslims are doing what Muslims do. It's their religion, something that they demand to be respected. We know how they will react to this shit, as we have seen it before.
So the president is doing the grown up thing, and to apologize for what one idiot did, and to reassure them americans do not hate muslims. What would you do? Ride in like John Wayne and clean out the vermin?
Time to leave those backwaters of barbarism and tend to our own problems here at home. But hell, we won't do that. Just hope the middle east is not america's waterloo, sucking us dry so we collaspe into a dusty heap.
Now that the entire muslim world is aflame over bullshit, how does this affect america's stance on Iran? Israel has to be getting real nervous as these flag burnings may soon include Israels flag. An attack into Iran now, would cause the middle east to explode!
So yeah, you ought to lick obamas boots in thanks for what he did in regards to that video in pakistan. He wants to calm the water, instead of stirring them up the way some people want to do.

Feel free to lick Obama's boots all you like.
To me, the Constitution is every bit as sacred as the Quran, and Obama is denigrating the Constitution when he seeks to place it below the Quran in importance.
But, again, feel free to lick Obama's boots as much as you like. I won't be joining you.

The president represents the american people when talking to other nations. If some idiot uses his constitutional right for doing evil things, we would expect our president to clear things up for the enraged people. And that is what he did. That you would make this an issue of free speech is like the ludicrous side of s hit hitting the fan.

We must be in the silly season. I saw an email come through which claimed that Obama administration was sending tax payer money overseas to refurbish mosques.
Quick Google search seems to support that from a number of news sources, and, as usual, some not so news sources. I wonder if this has any validity, as I surely don't want any of my tax dollars going in that direction. How about you?
If a man were behind four months on his mortgage and was talking to you about his plans to build an addition on his home you would think him daft and delusional. But in Washington, ignoring a current crisis to discuss grand dreams is called “boldness” and “vision.”

To turn this into a matter of free speech is the lamest argument. You are standing behind free speech, using it as a shield to do evil. And inciting a people who take their religion seriously, while knowing what will come from it is more evil. The founders never intended this, and they figured sane men would straighten it out if it ever came up.
Obama is the grown up in the room. He did what any intelligent leader of the free world would do.

I'm going to go by the Oath of Office of the President of the United States. That says Constitution, not people.
And I would take a different approach. Instead of paying to air this commercial, I would ask the political and religious leaders of the Muslim world why they aren't taking it upon themselves to say this message, that obviously the views of a few individuals don't represent the United States government. I would ask why they aren't educating their constituents and congregations the differences between their countries and ours, where there are distinct lines between religion and government, where there are guaranteed protections of speech.
If our embassies and personnel are in danger, I would remove them. In cases where that is not possible I would request the foreign countries protect them. I would let the protestors protest. I would allow those who wish to kill do so to their own people.
But I certainly wouldn't waste the time or money on something this ineffective.
There is no secret ingredient.

They had something perhaps you don't have. A sense of common decency, and they figured americans would always have this. They turned out to be wrong. So we have to be intelligent in this world of fast mass communication. To make fun of a religion in a small group with no modern tech to broadcast it is one thing, to do it and then send it all over the world is another. Especially when the intent was to cause what you are seeing today in the ME.
Hiding behind the shield of free speech to do bad shit, causing more bad shit is an abuse of free speech and you know it. And someone needs to calm the waters of those who were insulted by the deed. That is the sign of a good and smart leader if he does it.
