Really?

Tell us more about partisanship.

The Republicans ran us into this crisis ... They would rather ruin the country utterly than give up their stupid, failed ideology.
Amazing how blind partisanship can make black into white and up into down. The Democrats have been behind this mess from day one by trying to force lenders to give money to minorities and 'the underclass' - better known in legitimate lending circles as 'the unqualified'. Doing it a little didn't blow up too bad, so they pushed for doing it a lot. And golly gee surprise, surprise, surprise, it Did blow up.

I know what to do ... THROW THE BASTARDS OUT
Well at least you're not All wrong ... That's exactly what we need to do!

But not just throw out the Dems in a blind partisan manner. The Republicans never had the balls to do much to stop this train wreck, and while not the economic manslaughter the Dems are guilty of, that still amounts to criminal negligence. Ideally, we'd throw out both the Dems and Repubs and put in Libertarians, Constitution Partiers, and even a few Greens, Socialists, and others to keep some balance and influx of new ideas. More realistically, at least get rid of all the corrupt incumbants, no matter what party.

Re: Economy In A Mess And Congress Plans On Getting Out Of Washington While They Can

Today it was discovered that if the Fed hadn't stepped in on time our economy would have collapsed.

Now the Dems have decided not to get in the way and let the regulators do their jobs because this goes beyond politics.

The Democrats had their hand on the till watching it happen and not knowing what to do and now they're all saying that the Bush Adminstration did the right thing by stepping in when it did.

Right now Congress is more a spectator then a participant.

Which is good.

They tend to screw everything up they touch.

mud, mud, mud....you can't honestly think this is only the Democrats fault...seriously?
..you ever hear of Alan Greenspan?...it wasn't the democrats that appointed this disaster - it was Reagan.

Isn't this whole thing an antitrust issue?

I mean, it seems as if Washington is generally guilty of having a hands-off attitude on regulating these industries.

It's hard to assign blame on one party for this, let alone one man, since what we are seeing is the product of over a decade of neglect.

The people who will be guilty here are the people who now oppose regulation after seeing this disaster unfold. It's obvious that proper safeguards, regulations, and oversight are needed.

They're all a bunch of bums for not standing up and stopping this earlier.... and if they don't prevent this type of thing from happening again, they're complete fools. You can't surrender complete trust to the free market or assume that corporations will act ethically if there are no constraints.

Tell that to your average mushroom voter who knows nothing...well I take that back...they know Palin's husband is in trouble over something, and they know Obama has a brother in a hut.

Man, you are funny.

And here I was thinking it was only the Stalinists who felt the need to rewrite history when confronted by uncomfortable truths.

Contard whining at it's best.

Thanks for the chuckle.
