When the going gets tough, the tough get going

One reason, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said yesterday, is that ``no one knows what to do'' at the moment.

And we want to rely on this party come November ?

Just watch, the fact that Democrats don't know what to do will be blamed on the Republicans...

Couldn't possibly be that the only thing they know about money is how to buy votes with it and fatten up their friend's pockets could it ?

The OP is clearly intended to be misleading in suggesting that the "Democrats don't know what to do". I suggest reading the entire article for anyone interested in something more than partisan posturing.

The Republicans ran us into this crisis, and even after they were voted out of power those remaining purposely paralyzed any attempt to stave off disaster. They would rather ruin the country utterly than give up their stupid, failed ideology. I know what to do

This actually paints a pretty damning picture of Democrats.

Basically, it says that, whether they're in power or not, they're ineffective.

So why do idiot libs keep voting for people who have a proven track record of being able to accomplish absolute dick?

I'd actually rather have the Congress admit when it doesn't know what to do. The alternative would be to rush through some ill-considered legislation in the next week - and who knows what sort of CF program we'd get out of that.

Perhaps if they hung around, they could get themselves educated and perhaps learn what to do. But that sounds hard and not the least bit fun so its off ya go ! Time to fundraise and try and protect their phoney boloney jobs.

Hey, congratulations on not actually reading your own link, and trying to represent it as something it's not.

Well done!

Economy In A Mess And Congress Plans On Getting Out Of Washington While They Can

We're supposed to be in the middle of the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. And what is Congress getting ready to do?

Get the hell out of Washington. Like rats leaving a sinking ship Congress is going on recess.

I think this is a good thing but don't you think they should at least stick around and try to solves some of the problems they caused rather then leave when things start to get tough.

Quote:
Democratic Congress May Adjourn, Leave Crisis to Fed, Treasury

By Kristin Jensen

Sept. 18 (Bloomberg) -- The Democratic-controlled Congress, acknowledging that it isn't equipped to lead the way to a solution for the financial crisis and can't agree on a path to follow, is likely to just get out of the way.

Lawmakers say they are unlikely to take action before, or to delay, their planned adjournments -- Sept. 26 for the House of Representatives, a week later for the Senate. While they haven't ruled out returning after the Nov. 4 elections, they would rather wait until next year unless Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke, who are leading efforts to contain the crisis, call for help.

One reason, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said yesterday, is that ``no one knows what to do'' at the moment.

The only thing Democrats are good at is pointing fingers, not solving problems.

Maybe, was watching C-Span today though (I'm sure you, mudwistle, wish it didn't exist--waste of taxpayer money and all), and was under the impression the Senate at least expected to not take a break this year. At least they were hinting on the floor, the Senate would keep running all year long. The House on the other hand...

So, Mud, you'd prefer that Congress be more active?

Is that what you're saying?

Nothing becomes law unless both houses vote on it.

It doesn't do us any good if the House is in recess.

Personally I think they should shut the hell up and go home because they aren't doing any good in Washington.

I guess putting the Dems in charge of Congress wasn't such a good idea after all.

Everything they touch goes bankrupt.

The partisanship in Washington is the primary cause of a lack of confidence in government.

Bush tried to work with Congress and every time he reached across the isle he got his hand slapped.
