Regardless, I don't pay much attention to politico-comedic figures of any stripe, so instead of wasting time, why not just tell me what he's done that's so bad?

Re: Franken leading Coleman
He's had lyrics is songs which he wrote that talked up things like Halliburton taking broomsticks up folks asses, joking about the ailing health of politicians he doesn't like, comparing our leaders to Nazi's etc. Its a mixture of crass incivility with cringeoworthy tripe. He thinks he's funny too to top it off.
(Also its one thing to have the odd retarded idiot saying Bush is the same as Hitler, its another to have a prospectie politician do it). A tax dodger too at that. |

Re: Franken leading Coleman
Al Franken is a brilliant satirist, maybe not the best ever, but some of his stuff is "bust a gut laughing" funny, his books "Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot" and "Lies and the Lying Liars that tell them" are classic political satire. "Why not me?" sucked.
All that will serve him well in Washington, he understands he has to play to a different audience, he's not writing for Playboy now. But that ability to communicate images with words works for politicians as well as comedy writers. If he wins, he'll make it to national stage quickly, because he's a showman, just like Reagan.

Saying naughty things about Republicans, whether in jest or not, earns a person a ticket straight to hell. I'll need to remember to place instructions in my living will to not bury me in a three piece suit, shorts and sandals will be much more comfortable.

Re: Franken leading Coleman
A little personal update on this Senate race for those interested:
It's been a nasty race, particularly concerning attack ads placed by Norm Coleman's campaign and the RNC. Yesterday 10/11/08 on the 10 PM news, Norm Coleman got a story in which he personally said he had pulled 100% of his negative ads and asked all that support him to do the same. The simple fact that Coleman had gone from a 10% lead to trailing by 10%, may or may not have weighed into this. Or maybe it was when it was exposed that the footage of a supposedly "out of control, angry Al Franken" was in fact, Al telling a funny story about Paul Wellstone and his son running. Cut to commercial... Up first? An attack on Al Franken by Norm Coleman. How stupid does this turncoat jerk think we are? And he wonders why he's trailing and about to get sent packing back to Jersey where he came from? We report, you decide. |
