But the world ahs moved on those fools who are trying to impose a document that old on the modern world by sayign that the constitution is a firm and unchangeing, unchangeable carved in stone set of rules might as well by using the magna carta or the code of hammurabi. All outdated and useless and no longer applicable to the modern world.

what needs to be done is to scrap the old constitution and either write a new one that reflects the modern world more accurately and appropriately or adopt a set of documents that have already been written that more than adequately describes the requirments of modern civilized nations. That would be a model for the US to reconfigure itself into. A set of rules that all humans could live & thrive under. Well all but the right wing extremist sickos.A set of laws that would help protect every citizen of the united states unlike the current constitution which was just a throw together compromise document that has only been hled together with patchwork jury rigging and compromises. The document i am referring to that is so much superior to the Constitution is:
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights

A beutiful document that is more appropriate and more beneficial and more well written than the flawed and outdated US Constitution. Look at this preamble:

So I say burn the Constitution. Throw its ashes away. It was never intended to be the end all and be all of the governing documents. It was never intended to be strictly and unchangingly interpreted anyhow. It was meant to be a fluid and open set of documents. But its time has come and gone. It is a relic of an era that exists no more. There is precedent in the US history of throwing away a failure like the Constitution and starting over with somethign better. That is what this country truely needs to do.
The Constitution shouldn't be scrapped. It's a valuable resource for those who have the $$ to buy its protections.

It doesnt do enough to cleanly seperate the church from the state and the state from the church. Two thigns that should never ever be mixed together. Alos The constitution was a compromised changing of the Articles of Confederation. Which truely did give staes rights and powers but was thrown out when the Constitution created a plutocratic republic. Remember at the time of the constitutions signing only white land owning males where allowed to vote or hold political office. So if you want to strictly interpret the constitution all you women are no longer allowed to vote nor anyone renting an apartment or non-whites.

The constitution was a good document for its time but it needs to be revised and updated. Or at the least it needs ot stop being interpreted as an unchanging strict document and as the more fluid and flexible document it is supposed to be.
Yeah, just scrap it????

You like civil wars?

You think people will just sit back and allow this to happen?

Re: Scrap the constitution

We should just segregate the US into two sides of political ideology. The left can have the left coast, west of STL and the right can have the right coast east of STL. That way the liberals can adopt any constitution or communist manifesto they want and are more then welcome to destroy their own piece of the pie.

There seems to be no bipartisanship going on these days so fuck it lets do it.

I think the libs will all fit in the northeast. They seem to enjoy dense populations.

It is the problem with lefties and commies, they think that because they are cowards who wouldn't defend themselves yet alone anything else, that we must all think that way. Unfortunately for them, and fortunately for us, we do not.

Some of us will defend it to the death, because we are Americans.

the only cows I saw inTexas were either mechanical or sizzling on my plate.

I vastly preferred the sizzling on my plate ones. our hosts for that business trip knew where to go for a damn fine steak.

I'm one of them.

I have absolutely no problem fighting for our constitution and if I have to die doing it then so be it.

Honestly, it shouldn't have to come to that. We can just split the US and liberals can run their side how they see fit. We can have peace, we can have trade, everything will be the same.

I'm guessing the liberal side would collapse in a matter of years though.

Ohhh, but nothing beats a brisket smoked with the mesquite the kids gathered from the ranch! YUM!!!! BTW, I saw plenty of cows on my last trip to TX...and horses...and other farm animals.

Just so we are really, really clear (and you might struggle to grasp this next bit but try....)

Nobody gets to 'send' anybody anywhere. Your rights (which other people defend) do not outweigh mine. Got that?

I... I'm.... I'm trying to wrap my feeble "librul" mind around what you're saying... but gosh, I'm just so stupid.

I don't actually want to 'send' people anywhere. Swoop187 is the brainiac who wants to segragate the country in to two nice neat little compartments.

Got that?
