And yet the market cannot and never has existed without govenrment involvement. So no, history most decidedly does NOT show that "the less government is in economy the better". There is not, never has been, and never ever ever will be such thing as a free market. Unicorns really cannot help us no matter how much you want it to be true.

The needs of the people is a bit broad, basically allows the government to regulate anything for any reason. Regulation should be strictly for consumer safety and to prevent fraud.





Really? What was the unemployment rate in 1940, 10 years after the market crash in 1929 versus the rate in 1933 when FDR took office?
Looks like about a 32% decrease in unemployment. Not bad.
There was this guy named Reagan you might remember, his was from the high point in his first term, to the last report when he left office a 43% decrease in unemployment. We still had people unemployed.
Should we start a war and blow up the rest of the world...again so we have the same success FDR did?

I'm guessing that would be all the educated citizens of all the human societies in recorded history. Because as we have already established, no market can exist or ever has existed without regulation. But this is becoming a waste of time. I'm done with this topic until one of you geniuses cites an example of an unregulated market economy. Until that happens you're all just dreaming of unicorns coming to our rescue.
