    ahoy adaher,

do ye have any news on how capital gains would be taxed? i haven't read nothin' about how these revenues will be handled by the debt commission.

Not sure. I'm not looking too hard at the proposals until something has a realistic chance of happening.

Capital gains is a tough issue because you can't tax them at 25% or more, but on the other hand we can't have some billionaires paying a 15% rate.

But that's another argument for tax simplification. The Huntsman plan would tax the rich at 22% regardless of the income's source.

thar will be some minor closin' 'o tax breaks, but any revenues raised by the closin' 'o them tax breaks will be more than offset by lowerin' the rate to 28%, in regards to the nation's wealthiest folk. regardin' yer other observations, i've no doubt that the GOP can and will happily find other revenues by sellin' off federally protected lands to various special interests and "drill baby drillin'" in the ANWR, just to pay fer lowerin' taxes on the wealthiest 'o the wealthy.

Your comments are misleading because they are out of context, and cherry picked one aspect of the proposal out of many.

any revenues raised by the closin' 'o them tax breaks will be more than offset by lowerin' the rate to 28%, in regards to the nation's wealthiest folk
    prove it

Also not true. In 2009, there were 790,000 tax returns which paid income taxes at a rate of 35%. Over 2 million if you include the 33% bracket. The 35% bracket generated 261 billion in income tax alone. The 35% bracket is assed on income over 350k, fyi. Not so rich anymore.

although i think it be commendable that senate GOP folk on the committee finally decided that compromise was the proper course to sail, how low do ye all think they wanted to lower the taxes on wealthiest americans, yet were driven back by them hard headed democrats? 25%? 20%? 9%? less?

I truly wish they would tax the living shit out of the rich, reelect Obama, and finish, for once and for all, this dumb fucking social experiment. Maybe another 5 years of unemployment, loss of homes and general suffering would burn an image of the results of the social(ist) experiment into their little brains.
Take a good hard look, it's coming.

    My friend.

Goldman Sachs runs the US Treasury and are part owners of the Federal Reserve.

The Fed Reserve loans the US gov money and is repaid via taxes.

The reason why Buffet and Soros support raising taxes on "the rich" (people with jobs who live in houses) is because they benefit financially from the taxes.

They are invested in Goldman Sachs.

The left media supports raising taxes because the Bankers own the Left media.

The reason Shammity and Limpdong dont tell you these facts is because Goldman Sachs, Chase and Rothschild have reps on the Board of News Corp etc.

    I hope this helps.

Re: the mighty GOP on debt commision make thar offer!

The OWS and the other Left Wing "Tax Raisers" are actually dupes of Capitalists.

Most people do not understand that Goldman Sachs runs the US Treasury and the Fed Bank. Along with Chase and London Banks.

Therefore, taxes personally benefit these Banking institutions, its how they are repaid for the loans they make to the US Gov.

Buffet and Soros benefit personally from raising taxes because they are heavily investred in Goldman Sachs.

The OWS protestors shouting "tax the rich" will help Goldman Sachs and Chase and Rothschild Investmrent Trust get repaid for the Trillions they have loaned America.

This is why Wall St Media hates the Tea Party, but the Tea Party media leaders like Beck and Shammity unfortunately arent telling you that your taxes actually go to Goldman Sachs and other Major International Banks. These Banks sit on the BOD at News Corp as well.

    ahoy Chassisman matey,

i don't really need the rich to have the livin' shit taxed outta the rich, matey. i'd just be happy, fer now, if the temporary Bush Tax cuts 'o 2001 and 2003 were allowed to remain temporary.

when Texas be on fire and be in dire need fer relief...when yer state faces what may be a decade or more or drought like conditions and yer farmers need federal relief fer years and years to come, i'd just like to see them federal programs paid fer, so taxes have to go up, matey.

    ahoy Lucidthots,

matey, imma always wary 'o folks who proclaim that they alone can discern through the mists a wisdom that only they perceive.

but i'll humor ye and take every word ye have uttered as the holy gospel, okies mate? i won't research a thing (i don't have time to at any rate, i be at works).

IF goldman sachs lent the US government monies, why should they not be paid back? to take this idear further, IF banks in china lent the US government monies, why should they not be paid back?

finally, OWS seems to be primarily concerned with the role big money plays in politics, at least that be what i saw when i attended one 'o thar gatherings.
