This may well all be true, but the ideology of conservatism still well out performs liberalism.

Obama is no different from the other power hungry bastards. In fact, he fit in really well. And if I would have known this, I would never have voted for him. I should have never forgotten what my political science prof told me in 1970. He said that no one can go to DC and be DIFFERENT. You either fit in, or they will isolate you, and make sure you don't last long. You have to fit into the vacant cog, or you are toast.
Again, this may well be true, but you voting for him even thou you should have known better says something about the liberal mindset; eager to be overcome by emotion, i.e., hope and change, rather than doing the real homework of vetting your candidate to find out who he truly was.

If you knew better before you voted, then voted for him any way, will you still make the same mistake again?

What is mirth and merriment to me is you blokes actually think it isn't this way. It is about nothing but retaining personal power first, and getting your party in the high seat next. In order to do this you have to suck the rich cocks who donate the big money. And you have to try to get as much dirt on the other party as needed, continually. The best gov't money can buy.
Huh again, you were the one who was snowed by Obamer, not us.

House panel votes to hold Holder in contempt

House Oversight Committee Votes To Hold Eric Holder In Contempt Of Congress
The House Government Oversight and Reform Committee has voted to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress by a 23-17 vote.

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) announced that they will bring the contempt resolution to a vote in the full House next week unless Holder hands over the documents regarding Operation Fast and Furious.

Surprised that there is no thread on this. Rumor has it that Boehner and Cantor don't like what Issa is doing because it makes it seem like the GOP are overreaching. To be honest I haven't really paid much attention to this until today. It was kind of a Drudge Report / Fox news thing. I don't think anything will come of it and I don't think it will hurt Obama's poll numbers one iota.

Re: House panel votes to hold Holder in contempt

BTW - It was really amusing to listen to this whole thing. The process was along the lines of -

Congressman R - "We need to hold people accountable for this kind of thing"

Congressman D - "Will the gentleman yield some of his time?"

    C R - "I will yield"

    C D - "Thank you. This is Bush's fault"

C R - "Reclaiming my time. No it isn't. The AG has withheld 10's of thousands of documents we requested"

It went something like that for 5 fucking hours!

It is absolutely amazing to listen to these proceedings. The parliamentary procedure just makes every discussion sound surreal especially when everyone is essentially calling everyone else a liar.

So, Danny, how do you feel about Obama's flip-flop on executive privilege? See the video in this thread.

Liberals are oblivious to data showing hypocrisy in their beliefs, assertions and double standards. It's sorta baked in the cake.

You are probably right about it not hurting Obama. If he walked down the street kicking babies and pissing on invalids 45% of the population will still vote for him and I suspect that Romney will glom onto this about as much as McCain glommed onto Jeremiah Wright (not at all!).

This makes Watergate look like a cakewalk--we have people dead on this gun walking. If it was really a matter of executive privilege--then Obama should have done it immediately--and not wait until the last second and after a 17 month investigation. There's definitely something up with this. Executive privilege just like Watergate cannot be used for a coverup.

Curious, no? Makes one wonder he is trying to hide now...

Well let's ask the obvious question here. Who's STUPID enough to deliver 2000 semi-automatic weapons to Mexican drug cartels?

No one is--including the ATF under the direction of Eric Holder--that is (without a hidden agenda.)

I can clearly remember Obama standing at the border--saying that Americans were selling guns to Mexican drug cartels. Well it turns out his own ATF was doing that. None of these guns had any TRACKING devices on them--so why would Obama & Eric Holder do that?

Was the plan to talk about all these DEAD BODIES in Mexico--so they could assault the 2nd amendment to the U.S. Constitution? But it blew up in their faces when 3 ATF whistle blowers started talking.

Is this why Eric Holder ADMITTED that if these documents that he didn't release--were released it would get very embarrassing for this administration.

I don't think they did, but this program was so FUBAR that it would not have mattered. It is well documented that field agents watched guns being smuggled across the border, but were expressly forbidden from interdicting the smuggling and arresting the smugglers. It isn't that the ATF could not find these guns before they left the country, but rather that a decision was made high up in the ATF (or even higher in the administration) to deliberately let them go.

As for executive privilege, my understanding is that it only applies when the President gets advice from counsel or his administration members. Which means that President Obama was aware of the program. That means that the Attorney General lied under oath before Congress, and that the President lied to us (I know, big surprise).

Don't get me wrong, I not sticking up for Obamer, just trying to keep it accurate. There are plenty of things that piece of shit has said that should keep the "thinking people" from voting him another term.
Its accurate. Its just ironic because its exactly what hes doing.

Re: Obama asserts executive privilege to hide Fast & Furious documents

Last time there was a gun running scandal coming from the White House the other side of the aisle sure didn't think it was only political games...

Funny thing is King Obama (or is it just his staff) has declared he owns this issue and recalls enough details to declare executive privilege in an attempt to shield his minion. So the Oval Office is knowledgeable in the promotion of the drug trade and subverting law enforcement in a neighboring nation along with contributing to violence which has claimed many lives for some purpose only worthy of the Great O. If we had a true free press he'd be eaten alive by this.
