Michael Moore vs. Bill O'Reilly

Let's just say Moore spanks O'Reilly bad.

Blast from the past! Enjoy!

Re: Michael Moore vs. Bill O'Reilly

That "debate" is about the equivalent of hearing two over-opinionated, yet uninformed high schoolers talk politics. In no way would I say that's a "classic" political showdown, or so I've heard it called. It was clear why Moore doesn't do many interviews. He's a crafty filmmaker but he's a bad debater. The whole "would you send your kid to war" line is such a rudimentary tactic that he just made himself look bad. He only uses the term "children" to make it look as if 'evil America' is shipping off helpless infants to be slaughtered. Non-sense. O'Reilly was blundering and jumping ship from issue to issue when one started to slightly go downhill.

Embarrassing. I think it was Speakeasy who said it best, "Stuff like this makes it seem that US Politics can only be of intellectual depth of a Yankees/Red Sox game".

I have not seen it, but your reaction doesn't surprise me much. I would say that it's a "classical" political show because it is a very poor debate.

Both Bill and Michael are entertainers. They're not thinkers. They care more about convincing others that they're right than about being right. It is what the whole political arena is becoming. A very perverse and dangerous attitude in my opinion.

Re: Michael Moore vs. Bill O'Reilly

I saw it live.
Nobody beat anybody.
Moore never answered any of O'Reilly's questions...just kept spurting out rhetoric and theoretical crap.
Bill kept trying ask questions - Moore just dodged them.

If you think this is a classical political debate, and Moore won - then you have the political knowledge of the everyday average sitcom watcher.

I use to be amazed, but not any longer. Alec Baldwin (intresting intresting. How come the radio producers never looked at his SNL skit? That should have told them how good he would be), Michael Moore (Fat lying slob), Sean Penn (blames Bush for his smoking, i guess everything is Bush's fault)......

Re: Michael Moore vs. Bill O'Reilly

I didn't see it; anything with moore's involvement is boycotted by myself, even TV ratings.

The only moore event I'd watch is his head lying on a platter while a warthog humps his ass......Heck, I wouldn't even want to put a warthog in harms way, so forget that.

Re: Michael Moore vs. Bill O'Reilly

I've noticed a theme here. Deny there was even a debate (because Moore spanked the shit out of O'Reilly) and don't discuss the subject matter .... just simply talk trash about a guy who was making valid points.

I got exactly what I expected from wanna-be-conseravatives that like to burn American taxpayer dollars - shit talking and nothing more.

It was Moore's points that was valid and not the screeches to be heard in this thread from the neo-con vultures.

Go ahead kids, give it a shot and tackle a subject Moore commented on.

Re: Michael Moore vs. Bill O'Reilly

Sure, I'll go first.

Michael lost this debate simply because he could not debate honestly and I suspect you won't either.

First, Russian, English, and other intelligence around the world were convinced that Sadam had WMDs, and the Democrats were just as convinced as the Republicans by all the intelligence. This is fact that neither Michael or O'Reilly deny.

Saying the President lied about this is dishonest and a disgusting lie. This throws out the rest of what Michael Moore claims out the window. If you can't admit this then the debate is over. I have no time to debate with liars.

Re: Michael Moore vs. Bill O'Reilly

I applaud Mr. O'Reilly for inviting Mr. Moore on his show, Mr. Moore for accepting and both of them for having a civil discussion.
