Opie and Anthony are on a pay station. This is similar to how they can show boobs and swear on HBO, but can't on NBC.

In addition, Opie and Anthony have had many blatantly racist skits on their show. They would make Imus look like Martin Luther King. Are they racist? No, they do it for the shock value, because they are shock jocks. A large amount of the reoccurring guests on their show are well known African American comedians.

Should the Sopranos and Sex in the City have been pulled from the air? People pay a premium for the extras provided by HBO, Showtime, and XM radio.

Let the market work it out, don't turn into a wuss over the merger hopes. (which are pretty dim anyway- creating a monopoly and all)

Actually, Opie and Anthony are by far the most popular channel on XM. They may very well lose a decent amount of customers due to this.

I didn't call for ANYTHING to be pulled off the air so why would you ask me such a question?

(BTW, when were the Sopranos pulled?)

I've never heard them but then again, when I had XM, I usually listened to the old country music.

Yea, I was surprised to find out they were the most popular channel, too. I would've figured one of the various music stations would've topped the list.

They used to have a radio show in New York that was publicly broadcast, but were fired after running a game where people would have sex in public places for prizes. They had quite a large listening base back then. I would imagine a lot of people specifically subscribed to XM just to hear their favorite shock jocks back in action.

What I meant was that people who would subscribe to something just to hear a particular shock jock doesn't have much of a life!

As for the money raised for Katrina aid, I thank them very much, though I believe much of it fell into the wrong hands.

Then I guess we must have a very different idea on what the purpose of satellite radio is for.

Premium channels like HBO allows for language and behavior that can't be seen on regular or Cable tv. I always saw satellite radio as an extension of that.

Ah, I see that you've missed the point again.

I also see that you've avoided this post I made in response to one you posted:

Re: XM suspends Opie and Anthony for 30 days

Then please explain the "point" you're trying to make. O&A made some stupid comments that should be allowed considering they're on a premium channel. The Sopranos were never cancelled, but considering the content on that show and on "Sex and the City" would it have been resonable to expect that you felt that those shows should also have been suspended?

Your condescending tone towards loyal O&A fans isn't surprising.

Anytime a television series, on regular television or a premium channel, has a "series finale", it's been cancelled...
