Re: How much TV do you watch

They have had to deal with a lot of retirements, Nesta, Maldini, Costacurta, Totti etc and are still coping okay.

The dutch seem to be smashing the crap out of everyone so its down to a shootout between France and Italy, but Romania have the trump card because no matter what the Dutch will top the group and likely rest a lot of players for the final game.

Just to add in, Andrea Pirlo imo, is by far the best player in the world so i think he alone may well be able to carry the team alone.

Theres a snowballs chance in hell that Del Piero alone can carry his team to victory with the lack of team spirit and motivation Ive seen from the Italian team so far...

Pirlo, not Del Piero...Del Piero is too old these days tbh, his last good dead for the Iralian side was the goal to get to the WC final.

But in the last match (against Romania) from what i heard it was Buffon who kept Italy in the tournament saving a penalty late on from Mutu. (Kind of like Kahn kept a pretty mediocre German side in the tournament through the final in 02.)

Re: How much TV do you watch

Ugh I'm addicted definitely 40 plus a week here, i do watch a wide variety. I usually start with an hour or more of local news, then Christian education shows like Joyce Meyers or my fave Creflo Dollar then its on to BBC and national news to get updated. Then its a potpourri of science, history, modern tech some comedy thrown in then there are series shows. Divorced and single i have a lot of time to explore different avenues when i'm not helping someone so yes TV does keep me in touch along with the internet.

Re: How much TV do you watch

What is the TV you speak of? I seem to recall some outdated technology that is about 80 years old.

Seriously though, I haven't watched much TV in the past few months. Its more like every couple of months I turn on the tube for a few days at most. Like, I watched some TV in February and then I watched some more TV in April when a PBS special came on. Since then, notta. Well, that's not true, I try to tune into the 6:30 news but usually its 7:00 by the time I notice that it's time for the news. So usually I miss it, though there are those cases where I haven't.

Of course that doesn't mean I've stopped watching stuff really, just that I've stopped watching it as it was broadcasting into my home for the most part.

Shit, I betted 100 kroner to odds 6,2 or so that Romania would beat Italy, and I almost won. Those mamafucking greaseballs!

Buffon and the danish Peter Schmeichel are actually the best goalkeepers in history based on their statistics. Denmak would never have won EURO 1992 if it werent for him!

Re: How much TV do you watch

ABSOLUTELY! Peter was just the most amazing keeper of our lifetime, even most German and Bayern fans cede that he was better than Kahn.

Being a Newcastle fan and our wars with Manchester United over the mid 90's, i would be forgiven for disliking the guy but he was the best i have ever seen.

I was too young to remember Euro 92 but i did just recently watch the beginning of the Germany-Denmark final, saw the first goal but was too bored to sit through anymore.

Btw if you're looking for good money spreads you'd find a Villa/Spain top scorer, tournament bet still at 4 and Pud/Germany at 20. Pud's bet seems very long but to start with when i had a friend stake on the Villa bet for me Villa's odds were at 16 to be the top scorer. I couldn't bet due to our laws being more stringent and not allowing it and its unusual for me as i am oppossed to gmabling too....

Listen you gotta make wiser bets than that unless you have a lot of money to blow.

If you're not a season gambler then the idea would be to put smaller amounts of money on bigger odds.

The 16/1 Villa bet is an example. Instead of going at 6/2 on the Romania to get through, you should have bet at 12 on 2 of the 3 (France, Italy and Holland), NOT to qualify to the next stage. Granted you would have lost but the odds are better and gambling big money is usually not advisable.

Re: How much TV do you watch

Question? Anyone here watch American Idol? I don't, and just asking because I'm curious how many reality TV fans we've got out there.

I watched the first Dutch season in 2002-2003 when everyone was watching it. I also watched the Osbournes. For the rest I've stayed clear of all reality tv and drama soaps.

Re: How much TV do you watch

John Stewart has been really good lately.

SNL has been awful. I saw two separate ads for McCain in as many weeks. Is GE looking to run up the defense spending for another decade?

I only watch Stewart if there is big news.

I get my news from:

My personal view is that reality TV needs to die, and so do all those drama soaps but the truth of the matter is that they're cheap to make and they provide good ratings (especially the reality TV shows). Two things that will insure they'll never go away. X.x

Then again, that's because I'm in favor of smart shows, which are frequently getting killed off by reality tv shows/drama shows. -_- Oh and don't even get me started on the game shows, I mean what moron made the Price Is Right a prime time show (probably the same idiot who choose Drew Carey to replace Bob Barker)? Bah, oh well, just another reason I don't watch tv anymore (though I do check the guide from time to time to remind myself what I'm not missing).
