The heart of Jenin
I wanted to post this link, because i think it is worth watching.
"The heart of Jenin" is a moving israeli/ german documentary (2008) about a palestinian father from the refugee camp of Jenin on the West Bank, whose son is mistakenly shot by israeli soldiers at the age of twelve. In spite of his grieve, and having fought against Israel himself earlier in his life the father decides to follow a doctors plea to donate his sons inner organs to sick israeli children and save their lives, because "children can never be my enemies", he says in one scene. In the movie he is going on a journey through Israel to visit the children who now live with his sons heart, liver and kidneys, from the lebanese border through Jerusalem till a bedouin village in the Negev. We are led to people that have , also through the fate of their children, learnt to overcome their prejudices and others who whine about the misfortune of having to live with an arab organ. And it is also a movie about how a human gesture can bridge the great political divide for a moment......... the heart of jenin - Google Video heart of jenin - Google Video Synopsis |

Re: The heart of Jenin
This is encouraging. One of the reasons the Palestinian father is at peace with his sons legacy is probably because he realizes, being as close to the situation as he was, that his son wasn't actually killed by Israeli soldiers:
