The media love affair with Obama is getting sickening. Evan Thomas editor of News Week refers to Obama as a "sort of GOD" on the ("tingly feeling running up my leg show at the mention of Obama's name.) The Criss Mathews hardball program on the MSN-NBC channel. This one is over the top.

I can't believe that Americans can become so enamored with a politician that can give a good speech that is read from a teleprompter, that they would make a statement such as this. What is wrong with our culture, our society that a national media news editor can make a statement like this? Are Americans really that sick that they would tolerate such a comment?

Stupid, stupid people, represented by stupid, stupid, people. Let's call it out - "journalists", media types, and teachers are the bottom of the barrel - intellectually speaking. There is absolutely no reward in today's society for substantial and honest political/social philosophy - or science for that matter. Galileo and Socrates would recognize today's environment.

You took his comment out of context, he was using language to make a point (probably poorly) but Thomas didn't say that he thought the President was a "god."
Thomas was comparing Obama's behavior overseas to that of Reagan. But, maybe it was over your head?

In fact, I visited the Newsweek online site and they are dubious that Obama accomplished much in his Cairo speech.

The middle east is what it is and what it has been for thousands of years. It is too bad that we have to be in any way dependent on it. I don't believe they think 0 is a god. And if they do, that thinking does not extend to the rest of us.

I watched the interview, I don't think he was very much out of context watch it yourself, hes using god to make a larger point...which is, "Obama’s flip-flops for the public good”. give me a break. :rolleyes

I did watch it, and I don't agree with you about the point he was trying to make.

He was contrasting Obama's style of diplomacy with that of Reagan's jingoistic and self-centered efforts that were largely ineffective in any case.

Your powers of reading minds are failing you today. I went to Newsweek to look for any recent editorials by the guy, but I didn't find any. And, I didn't register BTW.

He said the words, but you can't believe that he really meant that he thinks Obama is a god. That's some nonsense that Rush or Hannity would push.

Thomas stated that while President Reagan WAS ALL ABOUT America--Obama was like "some sort of GOD." Therefore elevating Obama to a God like stature--over & above President Reagan who was a great President.

End of story!

uh yeah okay then...another one where in words only count if the one speaks them ala sotomayor....I don't think he meant it as god as in the GOD but he certainly meant it as in Obama can say and do and flip flop on any thing he wants and this Casper Milquetoast butt kissing worshipper won't call him on it, he can float above it, and makes a huge metaphoric leap to convince himself its all okay .....wonderful, the msm in action.
