Maher has to come up with new 'controversial' gibberish every day, or lose his ratings and ability to pawn off books full of more gibberish; its the nature of the media game and of both wings of the Establishment Party. The problem lies with the audience, not the messengers they choose to pay attention to. Bill doesn't want to have to go get a real job any more than Obama or McCain want to have to actually work for a living.

As long as people buy his tabloid nonsense and watch his shows, he'll be around, and so will Flush Limpbrain and all the rest of the shills. The very fact that you felt like posting a thread on the hack keeps his name 'Brand' in play.

As to the opening post, I can't speak to the quote without context. I was in the mountains with my girlfriend so I didn't see the show (a rarity). I'll catch the rerun tonight or tomorrow.

I would agree with you if it was only comedy performance art. However, Mr. Maher has been discussing politics for a while and not operating in a vacuum of situational ethic scenarios.

Perhaps Mr. Maher can read our Constitution concerning how best to provide for the general welfare of the republic in a more cost effective and fiscally responsible manner.

Maher is kind of a train wreck that is not a very effective liberal pundit. Perhaps if he got off the sauce like Beck did, he could get his own act together.

Except Maher is a comedian more than he is pundit. And his punditry is sort of half-libertarian half-liberal, which doesn't match any of the parties.

But Beck is a sober idiot, if you will. Maher's drunken antics make it hard to take the guy seriously. Jon Stewart is also a comedian-cum-political genius (in his own mind at least); I think that is what Maher aspires to, but it's not really working.

I remember when the left was calling Beck a racist for getting on ACORN a couple months ago. No one else was talking about it. Well.... look at that... ACORN is now losing their funding.

I also remember Beck talking about Van Jones when no one else would talk about him. Well well well.... look at that... the freak resigned.

I don't agree with everything Beck says, but at least he is more interested in what our government is doing than the BS the other stations are talking about.
