Re: What is it with CNN and race?

Meh... I've met a few bona fide racists... for the most part they've been particularly lazy minimum wage workers. Generally they think that the minorities are stealing their jobs or that whitey is holding them down, which shows the depth of their stupidity, really, since other people like them succeed all the time.

Illegal aliens are stealing jobs, that's fact. I mean I understand why people are mad about that, especially in this economy.

Yes there are "real" racists but they aren't common and they generally have ZERO power.

Of course when I say "racist" I'm using it correctly, meaning "a person who believes their race is superior to other races" NOT the typical liberal version, you know - the one where if you say "no" to a black person its "racism," or the liberal version where a white man is racist for criticizing blacks or non-whites.

The problem is nearly EVERYONE is terrified of being called a racist so they go OUT OF THEIR WAY to prove they aren't racist by giving minorities preferential treatment.

^^ If you ask me thats discrimination on the basis of trying to prove you aren't bias, which is epic stupidity to me at least.

Re: What is it with CNN and race?

Thats kind of what I said, Swoop. The few real racists I've met have, for the most part, been incompetent assholes who were mad about the fact they were incompetent assholes, and arrogant enough to believe the only way they could be such utter failures was if someone was actively conspiring to hold them down. Then they just picked whatever target was available and started hating.

But, the thing of it is... MOST people in this country ARE LIKE SWOOP on this issue.

It's idiots who are always making something out of race when it just isn't so that cause more problems than they solve.

I like to be around people with the same morals and values that I have who also have common interests. I could care less what color they are.

Which is why I don't buy into the whole "racism is an epidemic" issue.

I mean generally these liberal [mostly] news outlets paints racism as an epidemic and I don't see that in reality at all. People buy into this bullshit and react accordingly to it.

I don't like the lie the media manufactures one bit and I think the people who buy into the bullshit are idiots.

The funny part is these idiots will try and talk race with me like I'm some how "not in tune" with the epidemic problem of racism, which makes me a "racist."

These community organizers and politicians lie and manufacture problems that don't even exist just so they can bump their gums and make it appear they are fighting for some cause hence drawing votes.

To make matters even worse they actually create the problem that doesnt even exist BUT then turn around and reward those they have deemed to be the victims of the problem they "manifested."

Its like what the fuck is wrong with this nation.

Everyone is being played like a fool.

Fuck most of these dickhead politicians that talk these lies and manifest the idea of these problems like racism are fucking lawyers... Yea lawyers. professional liars by trade.

These politicians make a living lying in their formal line of work but get up on a podium and tell us all a bunch of shit and people actually believe it????

Thats the way I look at it, I have no evidence to see it any other way then that.

Re: What is it with CNN and race?

The problem is the few racist that do exist fuck up shit for everyone. Like peadophiles, when I was a kid in summertime I was gone from sun up to sunset on my bike. Mom and DAD(<<<<take notice Chassi) didn't worry about a thing. Now, you can't even let you young children out of your site. Hell, a person, particularly a man can't even enjoy watching the children play for fear of being suspected of perversion. And you'd be outta of your mind to converse with a child away from their folks. Well this is how it is for racism ande sexism. Because a few people are anti-social, xenophobes or just unintelligent and act or speak on undeveloped, misguided ideas on race - society as a whole pays the price. Not fair, but dem da breaks!

Yes, but thats not your fault or my fault its the media's fault.

Furthermore they [the media] aren't showing who the real racists are, the media knowingly is painting mainstream white America as racists in general.

Whenever news networks talk about racism they never show the KKK or those neo-Nazi groups, no they show regular people, not to mention they never present minority racists...

If you listen to the media, white racism is an epidemic and black racism is either justified or nonexistent.

I suppose they'll soon have gay in America, red haired step children of America, whatever. What I'm trying to figure out is what is their true motivation behind all this? The stories they present and the way the are presented obviously do not promote racial harmony, their message seems to be that any advances we have made in race relations are purely mythical.
So what do you think their true motivation is?
What is your motivation? That's the better question. I don't understand why CNN's programs that focused on African-Americans and Latino-Americans would be an issue. It seems to me each of us had the choice to either watch the programs and give critiques of them or choose not to watch. I watched both programs and found both interesting and enlightening. I often watch programs of this type on PBS and learn a lot about the different ethnic groups that have been profiled there such as the Jewish-Americans, Chinese- Americans, Mexican-Amercans, Irish-Americans, Italian-Americans etc. I never once asked myself, "Why is PBS presenting stories about these different groups of American people?"

It is the use of programming time of a (supposed) MSM outlet that I find unusual. It does not seem like CNN wants to promote racial harmony as much as send the message that racism is well , alive, and ruining America. Interesting and elightening? So are Michael Moore presentations, although they also tell a very slanted, one sided story. I didn't see CNN coughing up any of the shit you see on the History Channel's "GANGLAND", did you? I'd like to see them put a suit and tie on that.

_________-American is a stupid term.

I get enraged when someone refers to me as an "Italian-American."

If your born in America then you're an American, your race, culture or country of origin is not important when describing someone..

Only racists present people "_______ - Americans" because obviously they actually value the persons race more then the actual person.

Also, TV is amusing but should never be used to "learn" anything. Everything on TV these days has an agenda, even educational programs.

I have something for you.

YouTube - Martin Luther King "I have a dream"

In a word - yes. That was the goal, after all.

CNN is just stirring shit that need not be stirred. And why? IMO, for it's distraction value.
