I noticed something odd today at the bookstore

Books a Million to be specific, not sure it applies to Barnes and Noble yet.

They are actively marketing conservative themed books. Beck and Palin at this moment.

This is a significant change at least around here. They typically do little for that genre. And quite a lot in the liberal side.

Re: I noticed something odd today at the bookstore

Fox news has high viewership and conservative talk radio has high listenership maybe the book stores want to increase their sales numbers, at least for the holiday season, by stocking the shelves with conservative books.

That IS odd. I didn't know RWers read books. I thought they only listened to the radio. Certainly Beck and Palin didn't really write them.

At least it was well-written and not plagiarized.

Nor was it attributed. In her book, Palin gives credit to collaborator Lynn Vincent

Plagiarism is when you take credit for something you haven't written, is it not? It would seem Palin HAS given credit, but Ayers' name doesn't appear on the cover of "Dreams From My Father, does it?

Plagiarism is usually thought more like copying.

From MacOs10 Dictionary
Besides the only people that actually think or even care whether Ayers really wrote the book are RW nuts that would believe that 1) Obama is Hitler 2) he was not born in the USA and 3) he is a Communist .
Just look at this list of RW fruitcakes.

Actually no, plagiarism goes far beyone copying. When I was in grad school at Vandy we were told that it is completely unacceptable to take someone else's words and change the wording a little in an effort to make them our own. They looked for originality. Anything less is considered an honor code violation there. At least it was in my department.

Even in the unlikely event that Ayers wrote the book, it was not plagiarism if he gave it to him. It would be a different form of cheating the word for which escapes me right now. Not that it matters. It is just another silly thing for the right to make fools of themselves over.

Thank you for all the links supporting my contention.

Isn't claiming Dreams From My Father is his work without crediting Ayers stealing? Perhaps a stretch because it would seem that William Ayers is a willing participant, but obama has claimed the book as his own work.
You, in a round about way, accused Sara Palin of plagiarism even though she credits Lynn Vincent. Where is your intellectual honesty, my friend?
