A question if you're in the mood. Do you think it's a good thing that this country provides for the right to belong to the Ku Klux Klan? Yea, it's a bit of a trick question as you probably see, but I'm curious as to your answer as a socialist.

As a socialist in the anarchist tradition, I don't make it a habit of fighting fascism with fascism, so in this respect, suppressing one's ability to join a group, however dispicable, is not in line with my principles.

In other words: I don't think it's a "good" thing specifically with regards to the KKK, but I do think it is a good thing that anyone is free to choose whatever organization they wish to join, even if that includes the KKK.

Yea, you're right. Christians are running around the world killing people, destroying the freedom of women and creating havoc the world over and islam is just misunderstood and a very wholesome religion that just happens to have a few bad eggs.

That position is on a par with the rest of liberal thinking. Consistent if nothing else.

And, yes, the vast majority of Muslims are peaceful, good people, as are the vast majority of Christians, Buddhists, Jews, Hindus, and Zoroastrians. There are always a few people that take a message too far, but that's not dependent on what that message is.

Nonsense. That thinking would have had us going door to door in 1945 in Japan to make sure we only took war to the individuals who supported that war. That's insane. It's a movement, a world wide movement. There is no way to filter out the thousands that actively participate, you have to take the war to the organization so they see that it's not in their best interest to continue killing free people. Only liberals would think you can just fight a particular portion of an enemy that hides among the masses. Japan learned the lesson, so can islam, but not with the leadership of pussies.
