They're not running away from him because he's a cad. They're running away from him because they believe he can't make them money. There's no moral aspect to the equation. It's a 100% economic decision on the part of his sponsors.
They're not worried about his character, they're worried about the public's perception of it. Think about it, his "character" was a long-flawed thing. His "character" didn't turn to shit in November. A sponsor isn't going to shit can him because he fucks around on his wife. A sponsor will shit can him if the fact that he fucks around on his wife gets out.
Again, their decision to drop him is, completely, an economic decision...

Sponsors care about making money. That is why they associated themselves with Tiger in the first place. They knew that they could get the public to buy their products by linking their products to a winning athelete. They also know that some of the public think that Tiger's sex life is their business and as such will distance themselves from Tiger so that they will continue to sell their products to the easily manipulated public.
