And it happened long before he was married.

You've been a failure at proving that point wrong...

Oh willya stop. Cmon, this is old news and nobody cares already. A year from now Axe and Old Spice will be paying him 5x what Wheaties and Ford were worth, because there's a really good reason for his endorsement to indicate you should actually buy those products.

So back to my simple question. If his character doesn't matter why are sponsors running away?

because he isn't playing golf and is basically a punch line for jokes right now. once he starts winning again he'll get new endorsements.

That's possible but I doubt it. These contracts all have morals clauses. We'll see.

They're not running away from him because he's a cad. They're running away from him because they believe he can't make them money. There's no moral aspect to the equation. It's a 100% economic decision on the part of his sponsors.

They're not worried about his character, they're worried about the public's perception of it. Think about it, his "character" was a long-flawed thing. His "character" didn't turn to shit in November. A sponsor isn't going to shit can him because he fucks around on his wife. A sponsor will shit can him if the fact that he fucks around on his wife gets out.

Again, their decision to drop him is, completely, an economic decision...

Sponsors care about making money. That is why they associated themselves with Tiger in the first place. They knew that they could get the public to buy their products by linking their products to a winning athelete. They also know that some of the public think that Tiger's sex life is their business and as such will distance themselves from Tiger so that they will continue to sell their products to the easily manipulated public.
