Chris Matthews: Good for a few laughs.

I was watching Multi-View news since I wanted to see various coverage of the Rangel story, particularly to see what those in power will see...but that is another story.

So I zoom in MSNBC when I see Charlie's face...and here is Chris Matthews at his finest.

"He has served his country very well for many years"
"He is a good man"
"This is a sad day"
"I feel sorry for him"
"The rules change, and some miss rule changes and get caught"

At any moment I expected Chris to plead that people fly their flags half staff in honor of Good Ol' Charlie.

et. etc....then of course he spends the next 3-4 minutes showing Republican problems and insinuating that if he is punished it will be the Republicans doing it.

Classic...thanks Chris - I enjoyed the humor.

Chris Matthews is nothing like a journalist.

Rangel was involved in drafting and implementing those changes and he got caught? He either thought he was beyond the law or was too stupid to be in congress.

It's part of the humor of the piece Matthews did.
"didn't know the rules..."

"I'm sorry, I didn't know that I couldn't accept paid Caribbean trips from businesses I am supposed to be regulating"
"What...you mean I can't use taxpayer money to pay for apartments for some of my campaign staff...really...was that wrong?
"I am supposed to report offshore income...to pay taxes here??...your lyin'!!"

Sorry - "multi-view"...it is a part of ATT Universe TV package. There are several "multi-views" by genre - one is news.
I can see 6 different news stations as mini screens at the same time

Re: Chris Matthews: Good for a few laughs.

Maybe Rangle gave Matthews a thrill up his leg.

Re: Chris Matthews: Good for a few laughs.

Isn't it time Mathews followed Charlie out to pasture?
