True, and I did think about that. I mean, I wouldn't say "you must hire an anchor of color" but it is an interesting observation.

    5. Chris Matthews

The quality of programming on MSNBC is simply on another level. Even their opinionated shows bring in viewpoints from both left and right sources. From Morning Joe to Rachel Maddow, this network sets the standard for fair and balanced with a little opinion thrown in during primetime.
Well it is on another level. I agree with you on that.

I'm sure you are aware that the current line-up was created as a response to the ratings success of Fox. They set themselves as a left-wing mirror to Fox and have had very limited success.

I am also sure you recall the old MSNBC, before the change. Chris Matthews used to be interesting and thoughtful. He has allowed his inner left-wing zealot to emerge (with plenty of encouragement I'm sure) and morph into a gigantic Leftist Talking Head - and the results are enough to produce nausea.

When he is squealing, convulsing and gurgling about the wonders of Obama it is enough to frighten the horses.

He and Olbermann are intolerably smug and self-righteous. It is interesting to note that they have been relegated to Limbaugh land, left-wing division. They are no longer respected.

Any more I think Danny's only reason to post is to get a rise out of people.
No one could be serious making this thread...I refuse to believe Danny thinks for one second this is the most professional line-up.

I truly believe they are but I will offer some caveats. The most fair and balanced network is CNN for they are not really an opinion based network. I also realize Olbermann can take it way too far and his impersonations annoy me. Matthews doesn't hide his enthusiasm for Obama too well but is still very intelligent and very well grounded in his positions.

That being said I do need to defend the rest of them. Rachel Maddow is the most intelligent and thoughtful anchor on TV. I'll never forget the time I saw her interviewing some due who wrote a book on how gay people are ill of sorts and should never be allowed to marry. She gave the guy a fair interview and ended with "I hope you feel you've been treated fairly on this program". Can you imagine a black anchor interviewing a KKK member and saying the same thing? I don't think so.

Ed Shultz is a stand up guy who just fights for ordinary people against the Republicans who are trying to destroy the middle class.

Joe Scarborough is a conservative who actually listens to intelligent liberals and has moved to the middle accordingly because their arguments make sense.

Dyllan Ratigan turned down millions to be the spokesperson for Goldman Sachs because he's such a pricipled individual (and self described conservative).

Contessa Brewer ripped Alan Grayson a couple days ago on live TV because even though she agrees wholeheartedly that Grayson's opponent is basically a misogynist and has policies that borer on insane, Grayson lied in his tv ad and it wasn't ok with Ms. Brewer. It was a tense exchange that ended abruptly.

You see the kind of professionalism they have? Try finding that on FOX. Oh and this business about ratings is BS. CNN, HLN and MSNBC split the liberal viewers and FOX gets all the conservative viewers. That being said ratings don't mean what you say is true. As Rachel Maddow pointed out to Bill O'rielly, "The Deadliest Catch" gets more viewers than he does. Does that mean the fisherman are more credible than O'Reilly? I think not.

Someone should point out to Rachel Maddow that "Deadliest Catch" gets more viewers than she does, as well...

It is definetley his koolaide so i do not put it past him

watch it nightly and i truly believe NBC/MSNBC are totally carrying Obama's water this week alone is an example their education week coincided with obama's push for education, and like I have stated Morning Joe gets texts from them and Mika and Joe push their points for them never have seen that on any other network

    For Gods sake...Danny...seriously.
Olberman is the single worst hack on TV, even worse than Hannity - and his assclowniness is hard to beat.
Matthews is an idiot. There are so many examples of his constant gaffes and misstatements that it is truly a wonder that he is still on the air.
As for MSNBC itself, it is a mouthpiece for the Obama administration...wait...NOW I understand, yep I do believe you think it this lineup is the best
