Where were you 31 years ago?
My brother, my buddy Mark and I were in my brother's livingroom on Long Island, drinking Southern Comfort and smoking a joint, listening to WBAB. Bob Buchman broke the news...
I was 8. I was playing with legos.

I believe I had just moved into my first house in suburban Detroit and had a baby on the way. still riding with a motorcycle club, working days in a glass plant, and partying every chance I got. One short year later Michigan's economy would go to shit and force my move to Texas where plenty of jobs were available.

Trying to comfort my crying mother.
truth be told I remeber Elvis dieing more than Lennon

Watching Monday Night Football. Patriots v. Dolphins
And in the background the announcers started to discuss something that wasn't football, and the Howard Cosell made the announcement that John Lennon had been shot and killed.
hmmmm....I was 19 so IIRC, I was passing meds to my ped patients. Now Elvis? I was 16 years old, talking to my boyfriend on a payphone at the A&P before going to work at the department store two doors down and he had the radio on in the background when the announcement that Elvis had died was made and was wearing a black skirt, a cream colored blouse and black heels.

"Every time something really bad happens, people cry out for safety, and the government answers by taking rights away from good people.” - Penn Jillette amazingly enough, and I agree.
I was doing my sidework as I closed up the bar when I realized the radio station was playing a third beatles song in a row. I figured something was up and turned up the volume a bit. A few minutes later the DJ told the news. The remaining staff hung out had a few beers and listened to the radio for a couple hours. As I remember it we didn't say much.
