    Sarah Palin - Yesterday's News?

Seems as though Sarah Palin's long overdue 15 minutes of fame expiring, may finally be here.

Palin and producer Mark Burnett (who produced her "reality show" last year) have been pitching a new reality show that focuses on Palin's husband Todd. Problem is that none of the TV networks are remotely interested in the show.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Palin and Burnett are pitching another reality series, this one more focused on Palin’s husband Todd and his career as a championship snowmobile racer. But for now, TLC owner Discovery Communications has passed, say sources. And A&E Networks, which entered into a bidding war with Discovery for Sarah Palin's Alaska, also is not interested.

So far, networks have balked at the steep asking price – Palin's Alaska went for north of $1 million an episode and sources say Burnett and Palin are asking for a similar payday for the follow-up. Mark Burnett Productions did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Another obstacle is Palin’s waning status as a cultural lightning rod. The former Alaska governor, 47, burst onto the scene as the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate with a compelling personal storyline and outspoken conservatism that made her the darling of the right and a target of the left, helping her land a $1 million annual contract with Fox News.

Couple this with the disappointment of her movie (infomercial) and it finally looks as though the public has tired of Mama Grifter and her band of snowbillies.

Since people don't seem willing to just give Palin their money anymore, does this mean that Palin might actually consider running for some sort of office in order to bring attention to herself and re-energize her brand?

    Time will tell, I suppose.

Yesterday's news. The left has to find someone new to hate. She just hasn't been outrageous or stupid enough to retain as a fetish of hate like that blow-hard Rush.

The folks who should hate her are the ones who were duped by her "will she or won't she run for POTUS" and continued to pour money into her PAC so that she and her entourage could stay in luxery hotels and take private planes to her speaking engagements.

At the end of the day, Palin had no intention of running for POTUS, she just used to the whole process to milk money from her supporters.

Indications are the brass at FOX news are pretty sick of her as well, and her contract with the network will not be renewed.

Looks like she spends more time in your head than she does mine. Close your eyes, count to ten and she'll be gone.

She doesn't bother me, I just see her as a case study in PR and the current political climate in this nation.

Both sides of the aisle seem to need a "hero" to lead the charge, so to speak. This can be seen among republicans with the way they're jumping on and off the "flavor of the month" in the primaries. Of course the GOP is sort of desperate since the last real "hero" they had was Reagan....at least the dems have had Clinton (and thought they had Obama.)

Just out of curiosity, though...why do republicans always say non-republicans are "bothered" by their sketchy charactures whenever someone points out their flaws or are simply amused by these folks and the guilability of their supporters?

Is it simply a defense mechanism?

You mean like she exited her governorship? A quitter, who shirked her responsibility for a buck or a million. A typical Pub. They love the green color of money more than public service, unless of course public service makes em rich. Which it does at the national level. Business will always trump the interests of the nation with this group.

She tapped out as governor when she realizes that she could profit from her popularity (and had her book advance in hand) and never intended to run for POTUS.

Given what has transpired in the last two years, how anyone can deny this is beyond me.

Uh...not really, haters are free to disregard her whenever they want. Her general inability to lead was clearly demonstrated to me when she left office in Alaska.

That's such ridiculous partisan garbage as demonstrated by the bank accounts of folks like Nancy Pelosi and Charlie Rangel who managed to grow while those of the middle class diminished.

I'm not a republican so I can't fairly comment on that.

    My mistake.

You certainly have the rhetoric down pat.

she still gathers huge crowds and will be used during teh general election by many people running for the house and senate. Gingrich may bring her in a few times and she will most likley get a chance to speak at the convention.

The person I really want to speak at the convention though is Rubio!

In 2016 or 2020 he will be the president.

She could still throw her hate into the ring to run for POTUS.

She'd definitely ignite the Republican's and I think it's time they had a new leader in the polls since Newt's baggage is starting to show.

Obviously a lot of people are jealous of Palin's intellect. They cannot attack her track record or the policies she proposes so they resort to ad hominem attacks, character assassination and other fallacious bullshit of that sort.

Meanwhile, some of her supporters are so unsure of her and themselves, that all they can do is accuse anyone questioning or criticizing her of "attacking" her and launch into a tirade of well-worn talking points and cliches.
