I mean honestly my prediction would be that nobody comes out of this smelling of roses - not Rush, not her, and certainly not this new policy, in the eyes of female voters and folks in general who notice the spike in their next set of premiums.

The Jewish vote will probably be a little less than in 2008 for Democrats, but still at least 60%, if not 70%. The Catholic vote is a more traditional swing constituency though, and a large one. Very dumb to risk alienating them. The fact that most Catholics favor contraception is going to be irrelevant. Most Catholics still respect the church even if they don't always agree with it. And forcing church organizations to do something that's not kosher for them is not going to sit well. Especially since it's unnecessary. However much one might favor contraception, there is no need to make it free, or even to insure it. It's just not that expensive.

I don't know why the right wing has suddenly decided that it's a smart idea to alienate women nationwide, but the Democrats would be stupid (or, at least, more stupid than usual) not to take advantage of it.

Cool...now a clown like Rush is on the same level as the President. It was stupid for him to call just like it was stupid for him to comment about that one professor that got arrested at his own house. He needs to STFU about rinky-dink little domestic crap and focus on presidential stuff.

I wasn't aware there was some crisis in contraception availability that this policy was meant to solve.
