I know, I know - it is MSNBC, and this is what you can expect from them. But this is once again even worse than their usual pandering, and once again it is Chris Matthews that melts like butter everytime he sees his beloved Messiah.
I could only watch for a few minutes, it is all I can stomach from this idiot - no different than Hannity on Fox.
Quotes:
"This is his time, I believe he is going to shine..."
"Well Chris, he will have difficulty, he still has to get past the Republicans who have done everything they can to obstruct progress..(interruption "yes it is what they do"]...he cannot control how they behave, what we really have to hope for is they will be voted out before this man leaves office".
"You know...while listening to Obama talk about equality...I was thinking how today is affirmation for us all...that we have given a voice to the minorities, and despite Republicans doing everything they can to obstruct blacks from voting [interruption "yes that is true"] despite those obstacles we have something to be proud of today [interruption.."absolutely, it has been a tough road"]
What morons.

What do you mean "like Hannity on Fox?" Over whom has Hannity fawned over like Matthews fawns over his beloved?
You're right about Matthews, though: And Rachel Madcow isn't far behind him, except that she is intelligent and should know better.

Matthews is annoying but Hannity just plain makes me want to punch him in the face. That said, they've both shown to be partisan hacks for the corporation they work for.
Liberals fail to recognize that modern conservatives are direct evidence of the failure of the public education system.
Basically I was referring to them both being partisan hacks. As far as their bias level - I would rate them equals.
Having said that - I would have to agree, Matthews love affair with Obama goes beyond mere bias - but into a weird-freaky void that is just plain...icky.

Agreed, on all levels.

It is pretty bad when someone tinkles down their leg when they hear a politician speak.![]()

I have never really watched either show, but dos Matthews at least admit to being what he is? Sean does have his radio show, too so he must at least admit he is a conservative / right wing talking head etc. Does Matthews even admit to being a Democratic hack or does he think he is some centrist journalist who marvels in tough hard hitting news?

It was to be expected after 8 years of an incoherent Pres Bush. When Matthews again heard eloquence, he got a tingle running up his leg. Kinda like living 8 years somewhere where no one spoke your native tongue and then coming home to find yourself surrounded by folks speaking english. It has an emotional appeal when it first happens.
So Matthews appreciates good english. And some here don't like it!And they miss the way Pres. Bush walked, you know, that macho cowboy stride that turned many homosexuals into mush upon first sight. There was an upsurge in jeep sales I think after that.
Hannity and Matthews are the same sort of animal, except Matthews worked in congress when he was a young whipper snapper. Hannity took courses in college on being the most effective bore. and specialized in propaganda. He also forced himself to listen and cultivated a like for country music at the time, so he could fit in with the southern conservative republican. But he still is a closet fan of Freddy Mercury and gets a strange guilty pleasure from listening to him when his wife is away.
Matthews is a good liberal and he is proud of that word. Whether or not all will admit it, he is a pretty smart feller and perhaps understands the inner workings of politics a bit more than Hannity, the guy who makes his living appealing to the baser side of human nature. Fox has taken that to a great level of artfullness. As all good propagandists do.

Hannity at least doesn't try to say he is a centrist. Hannity is up front about being a republican conservative. I respect that.
Moderates are not republicans
I do not expect such bile and bilge water from someone so self-assured that he has divested himself from his ego. From ego rises pride and there is more than a little proud chest-thumping in your post here. Plus, like I said, pretty much all of it is bile and bilge water (that means it is inaccurate, hyperbole, or both).
BTW, the English to which Matthews enjoys listening isn't "good." He enjoys listening to proper English, is what I believe you wanted to convey.
