5 mil is not super rich and secondly, they pay a higher percentage and total dollars than anyone on this board. I think the rich pay their share. Do we need the stats from the IRS, again, that shows how much people pay?

Again, the top 5% pay over half the nations income tax. So how can you honestly believe that they don't pay their share, when it takes the other 95% of people to make up the difference of roughly 45% in taxes?

First, Five Million a year in income is super rich.
Second, they probably pay a lower percentage of their income in taxes than most people on this board.

Yes, this is according to the congress. Under their pay as you go rules, they had to get money from somewhere to pay the expenses of the two new members they want. Since they havent taken all the rich peoples money yet, thats the natural place to start.

How do you come to the conclusion that weve been swinging even a little bit towards regressive taxes? And yes, this did start with creating a couple of new seats. The tax raise was neccesary to pay for it, but it came second.

Do you even know the percentage you pay in taxes?

So much for freedom and liberty. What does racism have to do with this?

Yeah, the top 1% pays the second to least. The bottom 50% pays the least.
And the rest of us pay the most. The top 10% pay less percentage than the middle class.

Your wrong. They don't pay a higher percentage than the rest of us. They pay a lower percentage of their income.

You said you didn't want to speak Chinese, that sounded racist, as if you fear Chinese people.

Do you know your tax rate?

Again, the rich pay more in taxes than you do. Let's say they do pay a lower %. 1% of 5million dollars is more than 50% of 1 dollar. So you are comparing apples to oranges, or Granny smith's to red delicious at least.

Please note that percentages do not pay bills, cold hard cash does.

Prove me wrong. Show me the percentage you pay and the percentage that someone who makes 5 million dollars a year pays. Then show me the total dollars each of you pays and we will see who pays more to the government.

Re: House Quietly Votes to Raise Taxes

According to the IRS

$7,550 to $60,650 pays $750 plus 15% of the amount over $7,550.

$336,550 and up pays $97,653 plus 35% of the amount pver $336,550

Who paid a higher percentage?

35%>15%
$97,653 > $750

Re: House Quietly Votes to Raise Taxes

The argument is pointless as everyone uses the definition that best fits their agenda. Fact is half the country is paying all the taxes, and the other half is paying none, and that gap is increasing every year. One day the rich may just form their own country and take their taxes elsewhere. In the meantime they get no thanks for taking care of everyone.

I did, on post 24. It's not a matter of seeing who pays more in total dollars. It's the percentage that's not fair. Why should a multi millionaire pay a lower percentage than me?

Same link I posted on #24 Who Pays Income Taxes? See Who Pays What

Why don't you tell us what the $97,653 and over pay? Why don't you tell us what the $200,000 and over pay?

Check my link to find out they pay a way lower precentage than the rest of us.
