Gas Prices Tanking

Now where is the outrage and investigation?

Retail gas price falls for third week

The average price for a gallon of regular gas averaged $3.08, the lowest in more than a month, a federal survey of service stations says.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- U.S. retail gasoline prices fell for the third week in a row, dropping by a large 8.1 cents a gallon over the last week, the government said Monday.

The national price for regular gasoline averaged $3.08 a gallon, the lowest level in more than a month but still up 91 cents since the beginning of the year, according to the federal Energy Information Administration's nationwide survey of service stations.

Just because it was over three a week ago doesn't mean slightly under three is cheap. It still higher than last year beyond inflation. I'm not going to blame the administration for this but I do think it is foolish to say that it is cheap just because it has been more expensive once. The good news is that the restaurant is just a few miles from my home and I drive a Civic.

Exxon/Mobil was up a buck-forty two today, closing at $84.77.

Life is good...

Re: Gas Prices Tanking

Arguing about gas prices in subjective terms is a waste of time. An X cent change is high to some, low to others. It all depends on your perspective.

Re: Gas Prices Tanking

Yesterday, I passed a gas station which was selling a gallon of regular for. $2.999. It's the first time in a very long time that the price didn't start with a "3".

That, coupled with my Exxon stocks, makes me a happy guy...

I never said that it was soaring, either.

Nor did I say you did. This thread is a commentary on media hype. Gas prices go up, lets investigate record profits. Gas prices go down, lets not talk about it.

I guess nobody is talking about it because they are still high.

Then why did they talk about it when it was still low, like it is now? Its a matter of perspective. They should not be hyping it either way.
