Or keep a running spreadsheet subtracting deficit spending and 'surplus' SS put into the general fund from GDP. Grim.

If you had bothered to read any of the links I provided, you would know how unemployment figures and the CPI figures are manipulated

Here is a piece on GDP if you are interested in educating yourself.

No, not at all.
When we have an opening for a full-time job, benefits - solid pay - I get eons of applications...it is difficult to choose among numerous applicants that all qualify.

It's the same where I live. The majority of employers with desirable openings have gone to pick-up applications and mail them in as they don't have the staff to handle large numbers of on-site applicants for even $12/hr jobs with no benefits. $16/hr and benefits would bring a mob scene.

Re: Recession Deepens: biggest unemployment jump in 22 years.

The furure:

1. I project there will be very few "Full Tme" employees or company offered benefits existing.

2. Going forward we can no longer economically afford to manufacture anything in our country. (without government legislation requiring trading parity in wages)

3. World wide resession and lackof opportunity to exploit markets because of "standoffs" will cause a redistribution of wealth and perhaps a safer world to live in.

Our leadership IMO must be young, likeable, progressive and well educated with a talent to unite people.
