Wow, I thought we had it bad. I just dont equate taking money from someone who earned it and giving it to someone who didnt a good standard of living. Sure, its good for the ones on the receiving end. But really, AUS has a long way to go. You have a relatively low population with a lot of unused resources. Like all socialism, at some point people will figure out that they can work less and take money from those who work more, at which point everyone will resent each other, and both will resent the govt for enabling it, and then you end up like the US. Luckily, we have so much wealth, that we can afford to give much of it to the poor. In fact, we give twice as much wealth to the poor in this country as the entire wealth of your country. And youre quite mistaken on the standard of living of the poor here. Even our poor are very well off. They simply have the freedom to sit at home and drink themselves to death. No one is denied education or health care or a fair wage.
