What exactly is Obama supposed to do? If you truly care about the invisible hand of the free market you should acknowledge that the best thing that Obama can do is nothing. Or are you one of those big government conservative hypocrites?

Yes, the best thing would be nothing, he doesn't do that. The original poster in this topic nailed why new jobs aren't being created. It's from an unstable government and the mystery of a huge tax hike. He's a moron, he needs to leave this shit alone, he needs to assure the public he's going to leave it alone.

I really don't think he can do anything now but resign if he wants these companies to have confidence they can hire new employees and still turn a profit 12 months down the road. He has surrounded himself with too many radicals his entire life, there is too much uncertainty in the role of our future government because of this. He is not a trusted man, if he can't regain the trust of our business community, this is only going to get worse. Given his track record and how he's handled his first 8 months, I don't think it's possible.

He can do like previous presidents and just promise to divert everything to deficeit spending. It made Reagan and Dubya look like heroes in the eyes of Republicans.

They were fucking stupid too (well, Dubya at least). These bubbles weren't created in the last 8 months, but we keep getting more of the same when dealing with these issues.

edit: However, they were not as bad as Obama. Obama is just doubling down on this crap.

Was there a line back when Obama was Pres Elect saying that we needed the 787 bil to stave off this kind of thing? then in the late spring early summer did he then not say that it was a long TERM plan and that it would get worse before it got better?

The 787 billion dollar tranfer of public funds to private entrepreneurs was signed off by Bush. Glad I could clear up your confusion of something that happened only a year ago.

Yeah, because nothing that happened on Bush's watch has anything to do with what's going on now.

Cons falling on their faces. Never fails to disappoint.

Bush had absolutely nothing to do with our present state of affairs. Everything was moving along smoothly until that commiesocialistnazi Obama came along. He should just resign.

Why is it much of Europe is cutting taxes and reducing govt while the US is increasing taxes and increasing govt? I hate to say it, but Sweden might be on the right track.

Swedish gov't promises tax cuts in election year

STOCKHOLM -- Sweden's center-right government on Monday pledged to lower taxes and boost public spending in an effort to help restart the economy after the global recession.

Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt's four-party coalition said public finances were stable and left room for higher spending in 2010 - an election year in Sweden.

Uh, no. Bush did not "sign off" on the stimulus bill, which was 787. He signed off on TARP 1, which was different. He did sign off on an earlier tax rebate plan as well.

If memory serves, Obama became president the day before the housing bubble burst, so clearly this is all his fault.

You wouldn't be in here arguing about how well Obama is handling these issues if you knew how the economy worked.

It would be like me arguing art history with people that have studied art history, it's ridiculous.
