I understand the humor of these responses, but isn't it clear from the responses that America is not #1 in very much anymore?
In my opinion, this is not a bad thing. If we want peace in this World everyone has to have a chance to be #1 at something, so we best be getting used to it.
Of course, in my opinion, there is one area that America continues to be #1, and that for me, is the only one that counts - America continues to be the one place where people from all over the world dream of going.

What I have said, many times, is that immigrants is where America gets her energy. It is immigrants who come here and they, and their children, work their butts off and build up America in ways we have never dreamed of.
I will leave you with this thought: The people who leave their countries and come to America are the folks with get up and go - exactly the people America needs. Those without the get up and go, don't, and their countries are the lesser for that.

Uhhh--the construction industry in this country is HUGE. They don't "outsource" jobs because work as to be done where it is-nor did they get a taxpayer bailout--
The unemployment rate in the construction industry is standing around 30%-(which is depression era levels)-and it hasn't gotten any better.
Obama spent 787 BILLION taxpayer dollars to keep unemployment below or at 8.2% and it has failed miserably. He owns it now. He is an economic moron--and to sit there and blame business in this country. What he realise is that DEMAND is lacking for goods and services--and until that improves--unemployment will remain very high.
Employers don't hire people so they can sit around and twiddle their thumbs.
